BBQ with extra cheese…
or Canadian Bacon… as Rico said, not HAM! There IS a difference.
Preferably BBQ…

Anchovies and goats cheese!
my favorite pizza of all time may very well be a Pineapple and Pepperoni, perfect balance of sweet and salty.
I also used to be a huge fan of garlic, feta, and olives (ocassionaly replaced with mushrooms, and occasionally I’d add some basil into the mix as well) from a local joint near my old house. No meat, but sometimes that’s a good thing.
not that those are the only two pizzas I’ll eat, but they were my favorites. I even found a damn fine pizza place in Japan (surprising cause the pizza here is beyond crap at most places. I actually thought a japanese friend was joking the first time she ordered a CORN and MAYO pizza around me) to satisfy my cravings
Godfather’s Taco Pizza for me please.
I luckily have a pizza place only a block from my apartment. When I want to celebrate something, I’ll order a pizza from there. My recent favorite has been “cheese, sliced potatoes, mayo, perilla, and cod roe sauce.” Absolutely weird combination of ingredients… but absolutely amazing.
ETA: PopeJewish, don’t knock Japanese pizza! Tuna, corn, and mayo may not be your thing, but some of this stuff is fantastic!
When and where, baby? When and where?
Know what we call Canadian bacon?
Bacon.
I have no idea what this is, but it reminded me of this SNL Taco Town ad.
Gotta say, on the whole, most Japanese pizza is pretty crappy. They just don’t make it right. I mean, weird ingredients aside (in america I went to a Whole Foods that had a Thanksgiving pizza, which included turkey, gravy, and mashed potatoes) I just haven’t been satisfied with the majority of pizzas I’ve tried at various places here. That said, I’ve found a few that are decent and one that is quite good. On the whole though, and I feel it’s the same with hamburgers, the Japanese just don’t quite get it
Moving thread from IMHO to Cafe Society.
Mmmmm. Gorgonzola, pear and walnut! Anyone doesn’t want their share, can just pass it this way… =)
Last I heard, there was only one kind of wine (unless you count champagne as wine.)
Gotta find the right places! You want hamburgers, let me take you to Oatman’s Diner in Kawagoe. Best. Burgers. Ever.
A local place, Glory Days, here in Topeka. Great service, and the best anchovy pizza! Their other varieties are good too, but the staff doesn’t make a face when I order the little fishies!
Who told you that?
RE: Godfather’s Taco pizza
A masterpiece of creativity for the 80s. Just like it sounds: pizza crust with a salsa-y sauce, onions & ground beef with frech lettuce, tomato & cheddar.
I wish Pilsbury had left the recipies alone when they bought the chain. Godfather’s might still be around.
scrummy.
J’accuse! You sir are a John Denver hater! You just cannot accept that he said something profound so you must tear it down. There are many types of wine, there are those made from grapes of different colors, and if you just stick to wines made from grapes you will have a multitude of different varieties to try. But there are also wines made from things other than grapes, such as honey (mead) and other fruits.
My favorite toppings are mushrooms and black olives but I will tolerate almost any pizza topping, including anchovies, but no pineapple - no way, no how! It can go anywhere else but pineapple touching tomato sauce and cheese does not work for me. And yes, I have tried it. I love pineapple in many different forms but it does not work with tomato sauce and cheese. Cheese and pineapple alone, as in cheesecakes or cottage cheese is fine but cheese, pineapple and tomato sauce is just wrong. If it were such a good combo there would be pineapple baked-ziti, pineapple cheese ravioli, pineapple manicotti. Bleh, must stop now, making myself sick.
There are three or four of them in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis) area, including one about two miles from my apartment.
Now they do a lunch buffet.
If I make two pizzas, one with all meat toppings and one with all veggie toppings, and I tell everyone to grab some “pizza”, they’ll equally grab for either.
If I put out apple wine and grape wine, and tell people to get take some “wine”, they’ll all take the grape (except the guy who’s trying to be persnickety) and if I say to grab the “apple wine” they’ll all take the apple.
But yes, I did space out a bit on red versus white. That’s probably a large enough difference to call them different types of wine (similar to say, goat versus cow milk.)
Og bless Godfathers Taco Pizza. We go to the Golden Valley location often. Nom nom nom.
Last night we had Frankie’s (but from the New Hope store). Very simple - pepperoni and cheese. sigh
