So…my brother and sister-in-law are coming into the city to go to the CharterOne Pavilion…my wife and I (we live on the North Side) are looking for a nice place to meet them for dinner.
Besides Manny’s (a place my wife and I love, but we’re looking for something that’s not cafeteria-style), where’d be a good place to meet where my brother could park pretty painlessly?
If parking is the main consideration, the near west side is probably your best bet. One of our favorite places is Tufano’s, an unpretentious Italian place on Vernon Park Place. Chalkboard menu, basic but good food, reasonable prices, $5 valet parking, lively crowd, waitresses a hoot. Difficult to get to without instructions (no sign, dead-end street) so pls advise if interested.
Kroll’s South Loop. Opera. Zapatista. Grace O’Malley’s. Or anyplace along the 146 bus, which would take you out to Northerly Island and return you afterward.
Thanks, Mr Downtown and Ed…but it hit me: Connie’s Pizza. No, it’s not near Northerly Island, but it was on the way for my brother.
