Planescape Torment

Ack sorry: format like this:

Its complicated, but rewarding:

First, go to the Smoldering Corpse Bar. Talk to Ignus’ girlfriend. Then, later, go into the crypts and talk to Glyph, the face. Find the Decanter of Endless Water. Then, talk to Glyph, the face, about activating the Decanter. Later, go to the Upper Ward. Talk to two young women. They are on opposite sides of the Ward, both near cafes. They are looking for each other. One of then will give you +3 Hit Points, the other will give activate the Decanter. Then go back to Glyph and free him (if you are playing good). You can now free Ignus. Talking to Ignus leads to some very interesting options, including trading Hit Points for powerful spells.

Fall From Grace is in the Upper Ward, in the Brothel of Slating Intellectual Lusts. Go find Lokar the Necromancer (its not hard, ask around) in the Lower Ward, and he will give you a quest if you want you precious skull back. This will give you a good chance to retrieve the Bronze Sphere. Otherwise, you can skip the long travel sections; goign to the edge of the map once you’ve explored past it (and are out of the Hive) will let you simply move to any area you’ve previously visited.

To get Ignus, you have to put him out with the Decanter of Endless Water. You need the command word, and it comes later in the game- in the Clerk’s Ward, I believe. I’ll leave the details for you to find out.

Here is a site with a very good walkthrough and FAQ.

I’ll pitch again- those interested in continuing adventures in Sigil can contact me for my NWN version.

I’m not sure, but I have to wonder…do you have a saved game before you decided to do this? A quicksave? An auto-save?

Also, do you have the Patch? There are some bugs, and the patch solved a lot, but not all of them(I just discovered a character who will keep giving you 2000 points for completing a task every time you talk to him.)

OOoohh! I’ll play the game this weekend and see if I can’t get Ignus. Thanks, guys!

If I had it I’d be interested… actually, if you’ve got a link to screenshots or something I might be tempted to go get NWN from a bargain bin…

yah it is a bug of sorts. I think your characters are there but they moved locations somewhere else on the map. There is a program that finds your characters after you get mazed.

Great game btw, I hope they make a sequel.

BTW, just wondering. Do I need the zombie’s liver once I get his heart out? Can I just Dump it, 'cause annah is giving me dirty looks after having to carry it this long?

Nevermind about the first one. I have a better question. Is there any reason to go into Undersigil? I’m about ready to leave sigil and I think I’ve got all the little subquests done.

Also, I assume that the Mordon’s maze is completely optional.

Silentgoldfish, do you want screenshots of the game itself or of my section of Sigil? I’m still using the original tileset, to avoid using a .hak file (which can cause the game to crash, and all players need the file before playing.)

At present, the campaign goals are: each character can acquire a home base to keep extra goodies and henchmen, the players can hunt for Kadyx in the Slags, and the home base leads to other modules- classic and new- that the players can team up and explore.

Email me if you want playtimes. Go to nwn.bioware.com for generic screenshots and other downloads.

HPL- Go into Undersigil. Repeatedly. It’s an excellent way to build up experience, treasure, and to practice battle tactics with your group. You will not have a chance to buy healing and spells for a while, so stock up on charms and scrolls- put one copy in the book and keep the rest handy.

Any ideas on how long I’m going to fight down there? And any big/hard fights between leaving and being able to resupply? By hard I mean something like the Evil Wizard contruct in the Mordon’s maze(that was a tough fight). How about places where my party can rest? That’s just as good.

The area is self- regenerating; and not very large- about the same size as the street map above. Rest in your room at the Civic Festhall- you won’t be leaving Sigil without going there anyway. Fight the trelons and the larval worms until you gain a couple levels for each party member, and stock up on treasure. The trelons are lower in XP but have more treasure, the worms have more XP but no treasure.

Don’t allow Fall-from-Grace to fight with AI activated; she’ll get killed easily. You’ll get the pattern down after a while.

Once you leave Sigil, there is a difficult interlude that you will need beaucoup supplies to survive. Let’s just say you will have to unravel a mystery…

Things move quickly once you use the portal, so go Undersigil and get needed treasure and XP.

At what level would you say my team is strong enough?

Optional? Perhaps, but if you skip it, you miss

:smack:

Well, at least it wasn’t that big a spoiler. Sorry.

I worked the Intelligence and Wisdom scores up for the Nameless One in Undersigil. I was ready when I had enough points to finish the game with 16 Int and 16 Wis.

You need to have spells and extra magic weapons to get by some of the challenges ahead. I can’t tell you how many levels to earn, but since you get a point for your attributes with every level just figure out how many levels you need- and don’t forget Fell’s shop for tattoos.

I’m at least 18 for both INT and WIS. CON is pretty high as well, as well as CHA.

The only thing I need to pump a little is my strength.

Okay, how do I find him? I’ve been looking around that maze forever(on hard mode).

Any hints?

Well, I finished it.

God, this game was totally sweet.

I do have a couple of questions to finish up.

  1. Do they ever say exactly what the Nameless one did to deserve being sent to Hell? Enough that he wouldn’t want to die? I’m not counting all the horrible things he did after he became immortal.

  2. Did I miss something or did he never say his name?

3.Was there something to Grace I missed? Other kept hinting at her past, but I never heard anything more about it. Also, isn’t there evidence that she knew you before the game started, that you were one of the students in the Brothel(something about a diary stone in the basement)?

  1. Is there any mention of how long all of this has been going on? How long has it been since the Nameless one became immortal?

5.)Can you ever find out who morte was before he died? I didn’t want to ask the Pillar of skulls because I wanted to pay as few prices as possible(and luckily I just lied about that demon’s location). I heard somewhere you do find out who he was before, and he does make little mentions of being a monk or the head of Venca, though the mentions could just be jokes.

6.) Didn’t one of the skulls on the shelf in the lower ward mentions something about me burying something in Curst? He never told me and I never had to dig it up. Does this ever get mentioned again or did I miss something?

7.) The demon living under the skeleton in the outlands seemed to know the nameless one? Did I miss something or have they met before?

8.) Do you ever actually need to use the tomb plans from Hamry’s? I never felt like sauntering all the way back down to the drowned nations after that first sortie.

Actually, I’m wondering if anyone could retrive a save file taken right after you leave the mourge, as my game seems to bugger up as soon as I try to escape. Thanks.

Also, anyone else here a fan of Arcanun? That’s a pretty good game for fans of Planescape Torment, same engine I believe.

Damn. I forgot to put spoiler marks around it. Stupid lack of sleep.
