Planescape Torment

  1. No, what he did was never specified (although we know it included entering the Bloodwar, and if you die in the Bloodwar, you’re there for all eternity). I think it works better this way; we can imagine a lot worse things than they could say. And he didn’t want to be immortal just to avoid Hell; he also wanted to try and repair the damage he’d done.

  2. He can, of course, learn his name but we’re never privy to it. I guess cos after all that build-up, learning that the Nameless One’s name was ‘Bob’ or ‘John’ or something would be a bit anti-climactic.

  3. Not sure about this one. As far as I know, Fall-from-Grace’s story is exactly as she says, and she hasn’t met the Nameless One before, but I could be wrong. I’ve never succeeded in getting at her diary; perhaps if you could find a way to do that you’d learn more (that’s the thing about Torment; there’s always more mysteries and reasons to replay it)

  4. Who knows? I’d say it’s got to be millenia, at the very least. Once again, this is one of those things that works as vague and undefined. A long period of time, anyway.

  5. Well, we know that Morte’s lies somehow led to the Nameless One’s death (that being why he ended up on the Pillar of Skulls). I’ve mentioned my theory about him earlier on this thread; I think he was the one who told the Nameless One (while they were both still mortal) where to find Ravel.

  6. The skull was referring to Vhailor, whom the Nameless One imprisoned below Curst a long time ago

  7. It’s implied that Fhjull Forktongue was the one who recruited the Nameless One for the Bloodwar, a long time ago.

  8. Don’t recall this bit

No it isn’t th same engine. In fact, the engine is totally different. Arcanum was acceptable, and could be really fun at times, but there were a lot of really poor design decisions. Get it if you have some spare time. Its not worth the time of a really good game, thoguh.
