What I REALLY love is the way that they are providing jobs for all those poor lawyers, when someone sues the state about the illegal laws. Because, you know, there’s just not enough lawsuits going on.
I don’t see how commanding women to submit to their husbands in all things is mitigated by commanding husbands to love their wives.
Specifically, it says “as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” Jesus himself was clear on what that love entailed in Matthew 20:26-28, “whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.”
It’s not a call for husbands to do whatever they want and the wife to obey without question. I’m not saying you have to agree with Christianity or the Bible or anything like that. Just that if you’re looking for examples of Biblical misogyny Ephesians 5 is a very poor place to start. Yeah, it’s a commonly used example of such, but it’s an incorrect one.
I also don’t think Raymond Wieczorek or his fellow council members were basing it off Ephesians anyway. I might have missed it, but I didn’t see him use any biblical quotes. He just wants to punish people for having sex. Presumably because he’s not getting any and doesn’t think anyone else should either.

Abortion enthusiast say that tax payer dollars account for a minute fraction of the budget at the PP Abortion Mill. In fact, they say that no tax dollars are used for the killing of unborn children. Why the rant? Send them a check if you are so distraught.
Hopefully the Feds will shut this one down just as quickly as they did here in Indiana. Mitch Daniels defunded PP here, and the Feds were quick to override the decision, pointing out that the state cannot dictate to Medicaid patients who they may or may not receive care from, and defunding PP does exactly that–makes it unavailable for women who are on Medicaid. If the state defunds PP, they are likely to lose ALL Medicaid funding.
Added upon editing: I would gladly earmark my taxes or charitable contributions to pay for abortions. LMK when that becomes an option, 'kay?

So what do you propose happen to children when people who are too poor end up pregnant by accident, and can’t afford to terminate the pregnancy, or terminations are just not available because everywhere that used to supply them has been defunded and shut down?

The fact is people will fuck and kids will happen. So either affordable birth control be made available to all people regardless of socio-economic status, or the issue of that fucking needs to be supported and raised. And once children are in the picture, why should they be punished for the bad choices of their parents?
