Plant butter. Anyone try it??

I hear plant butter, but my mind says oleomargarine.

What’s the smoke point?? Anyone baked with it?? I’ve you’ve got some experience cooking and / or baking with it, fill me in please. And how does it taste spread on hot toast or muffins???

Margarine by another name tasted like margarine on toast to me. I didn’t bake with it though.

Like what? Earth Balance? Country Crock? Something else?

Country Crock is the one I see never-ending ads for.

Nevermind.

When my wife was breast feeding our older son, she or he had some kind of issue with dairy products, so along with other dairy replacements, we tried using the various vegan butters like Earth Balance.

They’re better than nothing, but they’re much more like margarine than butter. I guess they were ok, but not awesome.
