I’ve decided to get another game on my way home from work today. I was thinking of Silent Hill 2, but I am open to suggestions and not stuck on any particular genre. Any recomendations? (by the way, I already have Onimusha and Grand Turismo)
Well, Gran Turismio 3 is the best game so far and you mentioned it.
The next major release is going to be Final Fantasy X, which is one of the best in the series. It comes out in January 2002. It’s a wonderful game by itself, but it also has the best graphics in the history of console games. Ever. It’s simply beautiful.
I am all over that one. You have no idea how eagerly I am anticipating that, but I was going to get something today. Doesn’t have to be the all time best - just fun.

Holy shit.
I’ve never, ever played a game that was this scary and intense. The music, the ever-present fog or darkness, the small details…it all comes together in an incredible package. It’s just amazing. Just don’t play it at night with the lights off. You’ll find yourself wincing in anticipation when you enter rooms, because you just don’t know what is going to happen.
The only thing I don’t like about it is that you don’t have total control of the camera angles. However, you can fiddle with it and get good results, so it’s not a big deal.
Madden 2002 is really damn good too.
I’m looking forward to Metal Gear Solid 2. I played the demo and it looks in-freaking-credible. The attention to detail is unreal. At one point, there’s an ice bucket on a bar. If you shoot it, the ice will spill out on the counter. If you sit and watch the ice, it begins to melt. Not only that, but larger chunks of ice take longer to melt than smaller ones.
That’s right - you can watch virtual ice melting! I hear the expansion will include a paint drying scene that is to die for.
Seriously, though, it really did look amazing…
Maybe you could rent them first & see which you want? I have about 40 PS2 games & those mentioned above are pretty cool if thats the stuff you enjoy.
