My husband and I got a PS3 yesterday. We won’t be getting each other Christmas presents for a long time to pay for it, too.
We’re playing Folklore, which is soooooo beautiful and fun hack and slash with lots of talking. I like it.
We’re considering getting Assassin’s Creed, because I love free roaming games (Spiderman 2 for the PS2 was AMAZING) but I don’t really like stealth, though I haven’t really played a stealth game since Syphon Filter on the PS1.
We want a good co-op or two player game. We loved Cel Damage for the X-Box (simple to play, hard to get really good at and make the other person frustrated), or a game that is fun to watch for the other person who isn’t playing.
Games we like: Final Fantasy (especially X and XII), Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari, Ratchet and Clank (already borrowing the PS3 one from a friend), God of War, Onimusha 2. I love puzzle games (Peggle, Portal, Flow, Tetris, Dr. Mario), point and click adventure games (Dreamfall, all the old LucasArts games), anything with a good sense of humor (Sam and Max, Grim Fandango and the like), platformers (Rayman, Voodoo Vince, Psychonauts etc.
We’re definitely getting Lego Indiana Jones when it comes out. We played both Lego Star Wars Games so buying them for the PS3 seems silly.
Neither of us like traditional first person shooters, so Call of Duty is out, but something more quirky like Bioshock would work.
Anyone played the Simpsons Game? Looks really beautiful, but I’ve heard co-op can be frustrating when you need special skills of one character to advance through the areas and the other character just sits there. Plus it’s supposed to be really funny. What about Spiderman 3? The review I read said it’s like the other games, but gave it a lower score because there wasn’t anything new. But is it fun?
Recs for upcoming or even rumored games are good too.
Thanks!
