Wade Schuman of Hazmat Modine gives a harmonica master class.
A little Fleetwood Mac in concert.
A crazy Bollywood dance number.
Fairly random stuff, but all worth watching. Maybe a little random is what’cha need.

Oh, here’s another thing. I stumbled onto this song while I was in a bar over in Queens that was doing a karaoke night, waiting for my (now ex-)girlfriend.
That video tells a nice little story, right? And the music’s catchy and all. But then you see 'em do it live, and it’s even better!
And then if that’s not enough for you… well, remember how people were talking about how Pete and Trudy on Mad Men obviously had too much time on their hands when they did the Charleston? Well, take that and turn it to eleven for this hand-choreography version of We No Speak Americano.
Changing the subject, there’s this little video. Which… look, I’m not a MLP:FiM fan. But if anything could make me one, this video would be it.
(The full song. Also, a little more Caravan Palace for you.)
Changing the subject again, Immigraniada. Again, not happy bouncy exactly. But if I had to tell someone what America is (or maybe should be) about in three minutes? Immigraniada would be it.
Bonus: I stumbled onto these guys when I was in the subway, going from one place to another (like you do). They made me smile; it’s always worth smiling when you find beauty in a place you only expect to find advertisements and overheard conversations that make your teeth clench. Maybe they’ll make you smile too. ![]()
And oh bugger. I’d meant to mention Doctor Steel, and Mr. B. the [Gentleman Rhymer.](http://www.youtube. com/watch?v=9QvShuDV3is)
(Second Mr. B URL broken because it may be a bit NSFW.) (Apparently that also breaks the bbcode, so here it is: http://www.youtube. com/watch?v=9QvShuDV3is
And well, I should apologize to Professor Elemental…
And now I do need a cup of the brown stuff…
Who could resist a White Rabbit/Star Trek mashup?

I beat you to that one- but you show excellent taste!
Thanks so much for all the suggestions! I’m working my way through this motley deep and wacky wide compilation. The Beach Boys transported me away from this snowy farm. Scarborough Fair - Andy Williams looks the same age as S&G. I keep hearing the six o’clock news in the background. Loved “Duncan” and early REM (so much hair on Michael Stipe!). I saw Blue Man Group off Broadway in the 80’s and this video was priceless. Devil Wears A Suit is strangely intoxicating. I can’t access the JamiCat stuff but will try again. Looks like there is a ton of stuff on there. Can’t believe you can play the Morricone! Beth Thornley, Doctor Steel and Trip Shakespeare made me want to dance. I know just who to play the Yolanda Be Cool for. And Build Me Up Buttercup is a coy and lilting version of a favorite song. Kesha, YES! Can’t name them all but I will listen with happy ears and am grateful for you all taking the time to brighten my days.
Piano Guys with Lindsay Stirling - Mission Impossible (in fact, anything from the Piano Guys or with Lindsay Stirling in).
Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova - Falling Slowly. And any other Glen Hansard songs.
Delta Rae - Dance in the Graveyard
It would be an exaggeration to say that I can play the Morricone–I’ve been working on it for a few weeks now and I’m struggling with the fourth measure because of a little transition back up into place that the right hand has to make, combined with needing to cross the left hand over to hit the E on the second beat. ![]()
Speaking of piano, this interpretation of Powerhouse (if you watch Warner Bros. cartoons, you know it) is delightful. ![]()
I noticed that after I posted it. I enjoyed your Da Vinci’s Notebook link as well. ![]()

Jonathan Coulton’s entire discography. Start with Blue Sunny Day.
Update: I’m getting there with the third measure (it’s the third, not the fourth). The trouble is that picking my left hand up off of the bass half of the keyboard and moving it over to hit that high E takes mental processing power that I can’t use to make sure that the fingers of my right hand are where they need to be. But I’ve got the transition from the second to the third measure working all right.
This is what happens when you decide to go after something entirely out of your level of experience. ![]()
Also, for more piano, there’s The Maple Leaf Rag. It’s on my hitlist as well, but it wears its difficulty on its sleeve, so I’m not going to make an attempt until I’ve been playing for… oh, I dunno. At least 9 months. Heh. ![]()

I hope these links find you in better spirits.
These can cheer me up and bring tears to my eye at the same time.
I heard this version of “Somewhere over the Rainbow” on the radio a couple of times - then I had to go to teh internets to find out who was doing it - and found it on youtube. I was amazed - and I love it.
Somewhere over the Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole
This is just great - that’s all.
Ukulele weeps by Jake Shimabukuro
What the heck - it’s funny.
The Star Trek Hamster Dance
The unacknowledged inspiration for the Futurama theme tune, Fatboy Slim’s adaptation of Pierre Henry’s Psyche Rock.
AFTER you watch that one, you should check out these people who take hand-dancing to the next level. It may be a peculiar sense of humor, but I can’t stop giggling.
The animated video of the Shonen Knife song “Banana Chips” never fails to cheer me up.
