Please help a Spanish speaking lady.

My new next door neighbor speaks English as a second language and she can only read in Spanish. She wants to crochet a sweater and asked me to find a pattern in Spanish for her. I don’t know any Spanish at all. She wrote down the word that she thought meant crochet, tejar, but I came up with nothing. I put crocheted sweater pattern into babelfish and I don’t know what I got, but none of it looked like a crochet pattern.

So, does anyone know where I can find a Spanish crochet pattern on the internet for my neighbor ?

Thanks.

A google search on crochet pattern spanish found this site:

which seem to be a spanish language crocheting site.

Just tried Googling “tejido” “suéter” and “patrón”, got some hits but nothing that would lead us to finding a pattern in that direction. Try also “patrón” or “patrones” + “crochet” (yes, it’s the same word – “tejer” is “to knit”, “tejar” is to shingle a roof)

Actually, it’s Portuguese.

Here is a link:

robcaro That’s great ! Do you know if any of those patterns are for children’s size sweaters ? I see baby’s clothes, but nothing for kids.

I’m trying to help my neighbor out because she really wants to learn to make her child a sweter but everthing I have is in English.

Thanks again.

There is a Spanish magazine (Labores de Ana) that has all sorts of knitting and crochet information in Spanish.

Thanks to Mrs. Bricker for the info…

The site robcaro quoted seems to show everything in Argentinian size 44. But, if you click the Talle (size) link, you get a table of sizes conversions for Ladies, Men, Children up to 12, and babies up to 2, in both centimeters and inches.

Dragongirl… Only what Balthisar said in the last post. That is the best that I can give you at this time.
