Please help me. I've had a song stuck in my head all day

You can dance, you can dance, having the time of your life…

I can see Agnetha and Friedja in their sprayed on outfits as I type…

Yabba-ABBA-doo!

Lean out the window and serenade your neighbors with the song. Within a few seconds it will have left your head but will be stuck in your neighbors’ heads. 9 out of 10 doctors recommend this, but don’t be surprised if soon the neighbors threaten you or throw stuff at you.

Hey, I just finished my nightly free concert for the neighborhood…

I once had Dancing Queen so firmly entrenched in my head that I could actually hear it, as if it was playing faintly in the next room. It was one of the few times in my life that I seriously considered the possibility that I was going clinically insane.

DIG IT, the Dancing Queen!!!

“Seven Nation Army” by the White Stripes repeated endlessly in my head last night to the point where I could not sleep the entire night. Now I have Dancing Queen too but for the time being that’s a pleasant change. For the time being.

I hope you don’t mean to say that you brain’s so far gone that it’s gone gay;)

That very thing, for me, was one of the driving forces behind going on Risperdal. It’s an antipsychotic drug.

I can still play music in my head at will, though, as long as I’ve heard it enough to remember it.

Hypothermia gets randomly stuck in my head at odd hours. And sometimes for hours at a time.
Especially at work where the plant is so loud and for my job I have to wear ear plugs and I pretty much have a job where I work independently from the rest of my line so not much social contact even if we could hear each other.
I think the earplugs are keeping the song in my head! It’s a conspiracy I tell you!
That and if you take a look at random lines in the plant you can see people in their own little worlds dancing to the tunes in their heads. We do pass them along to each other off and on if it’s something the other person knows. Hypothermia isn’t on the list to pass off to them so I offer it up to my fellow dopers.
And it doesn’t help that my heathens run around singing this from time to time either.
jr8, the Musk Ox one was very entertaining. Is it a series or the same bit all the time?

I’ve not been able to get Kumbaya out of my head. And at times it’s that evil sing that the Flanders kids have sung: “Rise and shine, and give up your glory glory.”

It’s all I can do to crank up Bitch singing “Leatherbound” to 11 to pry it out of my mind.

There are six different Tales of the Blode installments on the rathergood.com website, all of which are similarly insane. The videos with the singing kittens are more entertaining, especially this one.

Of course, if you need shock therapy, this one is probably more useful.

Or, even more deadly, the other way around.

JFTR, the lyrics to “Amazing Grace”, “House of the Rising Sun”, and the Gilligan’s Island theme can all be sung to each other’s tunes.

And the lyrics to all three of those songs can be sung to the tune of “Stairway to Heaven”, but the reverse isn’t true.

You don’t like the tune in your head right now? That oughta drive it out.

Geez…thanks for that info RTFirefly. My nocturnal meanderings are now contaminated by your helpful input.

Arggghhhhhh.

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin’ and jinglin’ the jango
Floatin’ like the heavens above
It looks like muskrat love…

Argh! I wouldn’t have complained about my Robbie Williams tune (Something beautiful, btw) to everybody yesterday, if I had known how annoying it was to have it replaced by Dancing Queen.

I’m thinkin that the 10th doctor is one of your neighbors…

For reasons unknown to me, I now have the theme to Fresh Prince of Bel Air stuck in my head.

“In west philadelphia born and raised, on a playground is where I spent most of my days…”

Strangely, I haven’t seen that show in years.
