Burbnbellesnblugrss?
Filet Mignon went off as the favorite as well. He had the leading TP rider, and was the only one of the bunch coming from CD, the others had all last run at lower level tracks. The chart shows he would have paid $1.80 on a $1.00 bet, but I can’t translate that to odds.
And as for Zippy Chippy, I have always thought had I been the racing secretary at Saratoga when it was announced Zippy was to be retired, I would have written a MSW for 13 year olds and older and let him walk over. Maybe even involve the fans by having a drawing for 10 lucky fans to be in the historic Winner’s Circle picture. A “win” at Saratoga would certainly be a nice way to end a 0-99 lifetime record. But I suppose he has a place in history as a maiden now. There is even talk about making a movie about him.
Winewomenandsong has been running on the west coast. He is 6 now, and still going, although at much lower levels. He ran at Oak Tree in October, and won at Turf Paradise on Nov 21, paying $5.20.
My favorite of the hard knocking claimers is Spooky Mulder. He is 8 now and in the feature today at Aqueduct, a grade 3 with some other nice horses. One of our runners ran against him at Keeneland a few years ago. Our boy led the pack 3/4 of the way, then Spooky easily flew by them all at the top of the stretch. And this was when Keeneland still had its speed favoring bias so it was very impressive. It was a claiming 30 or so. Wish we had put a claim in for him, but I imagine we would have lost the shake, I think quite a few would have put in to claim him that day. Here is a nice little blurb about him in Bloodhorse: http://news.bloodhorse.com/viewstory.asp?id=36743
And speaking of Canadian racing, (well, you mentioned an “exactor” so I figured it was likely Canadian racing that you followed) one of our 2008 foals will be by a sire who did well as a runner in Canada. Do you remember Perfect Soul? http://www.darbydan.com/stallions/perfectsoul-conformation-racerecord.shtml
Our Miswaki mare’s line match up very well with son’s of Sadler’s Wells so it looks to be a very nice match. The 2007 foal will by Powerscourt. (we are trying of another Galileo with those lines as well). Since we want soundness, even if it means not racing until they are older, I love that Perfect Soul did much better at 5 and 6 rather than retiring at 3 as so many do these days.
So if you want a head start, you might start thinking about the French Reign-Powerscourt/Perfect Soul babies that will need names down the road.
4/5.
That’s what I was going to suggest!

I like this one too!
This one could be Lady Rein
I like this one. Or Reign Dellacat.
For Mel Brooks fans: Mme Coller.
Or I’d go with quite possibly the greatest name conceived: Moxie Crimefighter.
No. $1.80 would be 1.8-1, or 9/5.
I just found this thread, otherwise I would have posted here earlier.
For a subtly gross horse name, what if you viewed “reign” as “rain” - then you could combine it with the Sir Cat for:
Marked Territory
… which would work better for a colt.
