Please help me write a short request to my boss

I have recently been shifted to new desk position in my office. But I am facing few problems at the new seating position.

Firstly, It a desk and not a proper cubicle, so it is open from three sides, when i sit here , my back is toward the entrance gate of office. So i cannot get to know who is coming to my desk. Being a lady, i feel unsafe, and uncomfortable.

Secondly, it is right in front of customers conference table. As customers frequently visit our office, I am unable to keep my privacy.

Thirdly, the new position in on the way of restroom and staff printers , Due to continual distraction i cannot concentrate on my projects / assignment and my output and quality of work is also suffered.

My boss is on annual leave for a month I want to write a written email to him , please help me in writing the same.

Please advise what reasons should i mention in my email.

They all sound like reasonable reasons, but only if they affect your ability to do your work properly. You might want to add an example of when being so close to the conference table, you were unable to concentrate or customers could hear you making calls etc.

Something to add is a solution [I refuse to use the current jargon ‘call to action’]. Either suggest something better outright, or say that when the boss gets back you want him to allocate some time to work out a better outcome. Without that its just complaining, merited perhaps, but unlikely to lead to the problem being fixed.

Don’t just list the problems; you need to propose a solution as well. Can you turn the desk? Is a screen possible?

It is a cliché I know; but as a manager, I wanted solutions not problems
