Please identify this music for me...

There’s a cliche bit of romantic music that I’ve heard in a ton of shows, especially comedic shows. It’s a swelling bit of string music, usually used to overscore one of those suddenly-locking-eyes-across-the-room moments.

If you happen to have South Park on DVD, they use it in the very first episode, when Stan sees Wendy Testaburger for the first time.

Any idea what this piece of music is called, or who composed it?

You’re probably thinking of the love theme from Romeo and Juliet by Peter Tchaikovsky. By now it’s become such a cliche that it’s only used in satirical form.
