I need to teach myself AutoCAD 3-D becuase I’m going back to school in the fall, and they do their 3-D work in ACAD. I’m already very skilled with 2-D work in ACAD, but have never done 3-D work in ACAD. Can anyone recommend a book? I’d prefer one on the less expensive side, but it’s more important that it have good lessons and information.
You probably know already that the best way to learn anything to do with Autocad is to just do it. Can you get lab time at the school so you can practice over the spring and summer? Or can you download the demo version of Intellicad? It’s a fairly good Autocad clone with the simpler 3D features.
Won’t they give you time to learn at school? I tried to teach myself out of a book, but nothing compares to having a drawing that you need to get done. Right now, I’m trying to learn Land Desktop. If I had to do it out of a book instead of having knowledgable people at work, I would be going insane!
Thanks, Indygrrl and Can Handle the Truth . I should be able to find a book from your suggestions. I know some people learn best when they just sit down and do it, but I learn best when I have instructions and examples to follow, hence my need for a good book.
