Please recommend a cordless phone

I have a panasonic something or other and I don’t like it.

Biggest problem: the battery runs down (and the phone starts beeping) after about an hour. This is a problem, because I work from home a lot, and often need to be on several lengthy calls throughout the day.

Also, it doesn’t have a mute button.

My cellphone (a Sanyo something or other) does such a great job storing phone numbers, why can’t I get a cordless phone that does the same thing? If someone calls, it’s easy to save their number and type in their name using the phone as a keypad. Maybe my cordless can do that, but if it can, I sure can’t figure out how to make it do that.

So, who’s happy with their cordless phone?

How old is your phone? I just replaced my Panasonic 900 Mhz with virtually the same model. My original Panasonic lasted quite a few years (I don’t remember exactly how many). It’s just a plain 900Mhz cordless phone with caller ID. I like the Panasonic because the sound quality is pretty good. I also have a Uniden that’s workable, but the sound quality is not as good.
