Im making a website at Tripod but the forums their suck. Can anyone recommend a well populated forum dealing with making websites? Thanks
Webmaster World is a good forum for most every aspect of website creation, although it may be overkill for a personal homepage.
If you are looking for information on the technologies used in the creation of websites (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc.) you might start with W3Schools
Of course, books are good too. I like O’Reilly books, but that may be due to their use of animals on the covers.
Not as active, and often quite advanced (but useful), is evolt.org. They don’t have forums per se, but very good articles, and in lieu of forums they have an active mailing list.
This used to be a good one, I haven’t been over there in ages but maybe they still maintain a good board: http://cultforum.com/
I belong to, and can highly recommend Help From Techs Mike Foster is wonderful.
