Please see Megiddo, Omega Code 2

This film did not get it’s due, and the fact is that unlike the first Omega Code this movie stands on it’s own as a real movie.
The acting is good, the story line is good, and it is not slow at all.
Eventhough it is produced by Matt Crouch and the Trinity Broadcasting Network this film is not really a religous film it is a doomsday movie.
I saw it in the theatre, have rented it several times and it has passed the tests, my picky younger brothers liked the movie and so did most of my friends.
I’m referring to the friends that never set foot in a church liked this movie for what it is and it is a good movie that I would like the SDMB community to watch.
So next time you are renting something please consider “Megiddo, Omega Code 2”.

I actually thought it was really bad. I liked the first one better.

The fact that I was about 13 when I saw the first one might have had something to do with it, but I still really didn’t like Megiddo.

Oh, man, if it’s worse than the first one … no thank you. A friend and I rented the first one for kitsch value and it didn’t even work on that level.

I liked it better than the first. The guy who plays Stone Alexander as a teenager does a good job, I thought.

The first Omega Code movie is the movie that comes to mind when I need an example of a crappy film. I like cheesy movies, I like apocalypse movies, I like religious moves, hell I even like most bad movies in one way or another. But the Omega Code failed in all of the above.

You could probably convince me to watch the second one, but I’d need strong assurances that it was a very different beast from its predecessor.

Hey, but the first Omega Code had Michael Ironside in it, the King of Crappy Movies. It also had that Caspar guy, and Michael York, and . . . I forget who else. I like the two Michaels (York and Ironside) so the first movie was okay as far as that was concerned.

Who is in Omega Code 2?

It also has Michael York playing Alexander Stone, aka the Antichrist.

But it’s not a sequel or a prequel. It’s a drastically different interpretation of Revelations.

In this version, Michael York’s character is evil from birth, sort of like in the Omen movies. This time , his takeover of the UN has less to do with politics and PR stunts, and is a more straightforward military conquest. In the end, he morphs into a CGI dragon, and gets physically tossed into a literal lake of fire.

I liked the first one better.
