Please, Take the Boyo Jim Virtual Home Tour

I moved into my condo in November, and it is finally nearly right. Please take a look around.I suggest avoiding the slide show, as the images load too slowly for the speed of the show, but… whatever.

I should disclose that I faked one picture by inserting a couple of pieces of art and a chair that I’ve ordered for the living room but haven’t been delivered yet.

I think I figured out which one.

It all looks great!

Is your cat really that fat or is the view just foreshortened enough to make it look that way.

Not that there’s anything wrong with a fat cat. Look at how lucrative Garfield is for Jim Davis!

Is that a racoon in pic 3?

Very nice. Are you the artist for all those paintings and such?

Congratulations on your new home! I love all the artwork! It’s not only beautiful but it gives your place a very cool ambiance. It’s as if the art has become the soul of your home.

Again, congratulations!

I will thank you all not not further malign my cats. They may be fat, but they’re also happy. And I’m sure the camera adds weight :).

I wish I had half the talent needed to create any of the art I have, but my only talent seems to be picking things out that go well together.

I have received and hung my real rug, pictured here. It’s a bit more orange and subdued than the redder and brighter image I got off the manufacturer’s website and digitally inserted into my theoretical living room.

That’s quite a difference. Were you aware of the actual color when you bought it, or did you order it from their catalog or website? And if so, are you pleased with the actual color? (I’m not being critical of the actual color; it’s just that if I had ordered anthing from a website based on their photo and the actual color turned out to be that much different, I don’t know if I’d be happy about it.)

But again, I really like what you’re doing with your place.

(Btw, how’d the brick thing next to the stove turn out?)

Very nice…we have some similar taste with modern/contemporary furnishings - not easy to find these days, and when you do, costs a fortune.

You have a lot of color in the art, but may I suggest going to your local Home Depot paint department, buying a little CD program called Glidden Color @ HomeII
and you can insert photos of your place and try out some color for the walls.

I too noticed the Koala bear in photo three.

Only major critique is the bookshelves. Too klutzy and “woody” for the condo. I know you can’t just go out and buy all new (unless you have recently won a lottery of some kind) but some plexiglass, or floating wall shelves, or chrome or brushed steel would keep your contemporary style, save space, and look neater.

But the artwork is great, bold and makes the place look sleek, but inviting. Let me know when you are having the housewarming…I’ll bring the dip.

I’ll bring the wine.

I was ordering based on the website picture, noy after seeing an actual rug. But it being more orange works out better for me – there is brickwork off to the left which doesn’t show in the photo and you can see o bit of orange in the other art too. Since I bought it from a local vendor, I had an option to return it within 3 day, but I didn’t

And I’ve also gotten used to the colors not being exactly what I want, and all the websites have disclaimers about colors and even size. I had an actual fabric sample of the couch before I ordered it, but the couch turned out to be noticeably darker than the sample. I also saw a catalog pitcture of the seashore photo in my bedroom which was a much lighter blue than what I got.

I’m still not sure whether to attribute these differences to slight variations of dye colors (or developing processes for pics), or different lighting while viewing. I was looking in the couch store under fairly yellowish lights, and the rug in the web pic – who knows? Maybe it had 5 thousand watts of bright lights making it look especially bright.

Thank you for the paint CD suggestion – especially because paint can make a bug difference for very little cost, and I’m rapidly running out of money.

And I agree about the bookshelves – two of my big shelves were actually in the living room until I figured out how to make them fit in my office. I’m thinking I can get rid of my CD/DVD shelf in the next few months by getting this 400 CD/DVD changer, which ironically will cost me less than the shelving unit did.

Koala bear? This? My sister sees a fish in it but I don’t see either fish or bear.
