Please! Take those white socks off when wearing Tevas; or I'll cut your feet off!

Ok, no where in the Teva-wearing training manual does it say that you can wear white socks and tevas!

Wool socks under jeans with Birkenstocks in Autumn…maybe. But Never, ever white socks pulled up and tevas. It just doesn’t work. It’s ok if you never do it again, but please, for the love of OG and everything decent, take off the white socks, and tevas. Or just wear sneakers with your socks.
So please: conform to the standards of propriety and never wear those white socks under your tevas ever again.

What about ankle-high black socks with black Tevas? (I am starting a new trend)

No. No, and no.

What Zsofia said.

Bite me.

In know they do things a little differently in San Francisco, but even by a Vermonter’s standards…it’s wrong.

Tevas look like ass, with or without socks.

In fact, never, ever white socks pulled up with any kind of sandals. (Okay, if you’re a girl under 10 with lacy white knee socks and white or pink leather sandals, then maybe.)

The calf-length white crew sock just doesn’t work with sandals. (Nor does it work with shorts, as a rule. Sandals, high white crew socks and shorts are the fashion trifecta.)

If you like a little padding under your tevas, try sport sandal socks designed for the purpose. You’ll look sporty and athletic instead of just terminally dorky.

Oh, and a pre-emptive “fuck you” to all the offenderati who will come in whining that they can wear whatever they want and why should they care what we think. This is a rant about aesthetics, not ethics, and other people’s clothing is part of the aesthetic landscape that we’re free to critique anonymously and privately. If you don’t care whether what you wear looks dorky, then by all means wear it, and just ignore us petty-minded fastidious types over here venting about how awful we find it.

Nice, I could not have said it any better.

Oh and to jump on my own band wagon again:

Tevas were so 90’s get Keens instead. *

[sup]I’m not a rep. I swear[/sup] ;D

I’m sorry, Must have been in my cave too long. What are Tevas? If sandals, only black socks are right with them.

(hides in closet)

I find that bicycling socks give a little comfort under a pair of sandals and minimize the dorkosity. They also wick away foot sweat on a hot day very efficiently, as they are meant to do.

I was gonna just ask people to stop wearing Tevas at all, but that’s too much to ask, I suppose. So, it is okay to wear socks with them, per ** Kimstu’s** example; just not white, right?

I have frequently found it helpful to carry smelling salts when I appear in public, so as to avoid leaving a trail of stunned aesthetes wheresoever I go.

See, now that’s thoughtful.

I don’t get it. I mean, that sock you just linked to is as terminally dorky as white socks with sandals. [Any Kind of] socks + [Any Kind Of] sandals = very bad.

I’ve noticed that a lot of grad students wear socks with sandals and frankly, it blows my mind. Perhaps that’s why I’ll never get a PhD. :frowning:

Sporty? Those things scream, “Everyone, look at me, the vapid suburbanite asshole!”

The next purchase is one of these.

 Shit, I like the FJ…

You sure about that, Kimstu?

You’ll pry my rainbow-striped glove-socks *cum *Tevas from my cold, dead feet.

I agree with Ignatz. What are tevas?

I googled and found these shoes, among others. You would wear socks with these shoes?
