Please tell me what I am...

With regards to the original post from SATAN, I personally feel that the Nun you were listening to is most correct in her views.

The Lakota tribe also has a phrase that pretty much sums it all up: Mitakuye Oyasin…meaning we are all related or connected. Isn’t it amazing that those we once labeled as “savages” and “Pagans” tend to be closer to the mark than most “organized” religions?

Well, except for that whole deal about how coyotes have black rings around their eyes because one of them took out his eyeballs and accidentally popped a pair of pitch balls into his eye sockets. And how the Earth is a flat plate resting on the back of a giant turtle.

“Organized religion”?!?! Dem’s fightin’ words!

reply after having only read the original post:

No, mate you’re definitely far from alone. I came to the same conclusion a few years back. I too had major problems with organised religion and one of the key problems was their intolerance of other beliefs or structures.

I’m not sure how I’d classify myself truly: I belive in God but not organised religions which are all too often based on perceptions (often different), interpretation and rigid structures.

But religion should be - IMHO - a personal thing. I believe we worhsip the same god (those who believe in one anyway) but that we each do it in our own seperate ways.

Heck I’m not even into ceremony. It’s how you live generally, not what you do occasionally.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
