Please Welcome My Friend moonchilde!!!

I recently recommended The Straight Dope to my friend…and he just emailed me to say that he has joined us in the wild ride that is the SDMB! I expect you will see him more in GD and GQ than in the more “social” forums I frequent…

Please allow me to introduce to you all…my friend moonchilde!!!

I’m very happy to have you here, darlin’, and I am quite certain you will soon become as addicted as the rest of us!

Much Love,

Cheri

As one friend of Scotti to another:

Damn lucky, man. There’s a reason we love her so much.

Welcome aboard, moonchilde. Cool name (if you see this message!) BTW.

Welcome, welcome, thrice welcome, moonchilde. Any friend of Scotti’s is a friend of ours, as the saying aptly goes. Pray elucidate us on the origin and meaning of your username, I most humbly beg. I sense an interesting story or two there.

Seriously, if you’re a good friend of Cheri’s, then I shall be proud to consider you a friend of mine. Name’s Karyn out here in the real world, but I will gladly answer to purr, purrp, purrplebear, pbear, or whatever. Sexy, adorable and cute works too, though I am rarely called that, more’s the pity. wry chuckle

I’m not overly fond of pb, since I like to think I am nothing at all like peanut butter. :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m digressing horribly now, so I’ll hush, and just give you some hugs.

{{{{{{moonchilde}}}}}} [sub]sneaks a quick kiss onna cheek then looks innocently at you as if nothing happened[/sub]

Welcome, and have fun! I absolutely enjoy it here.

Iron Maiden fan by any chance, moonchilde?

moonchilde, you are most welcome, as you come recommended by the ineffably wonderful and greatly loved scotti.

I look forward to seeing a post or two from you in the future.

Oooooh, another n00b to mess around with…

Just kidding.

Welcome to the SDMB!

Crap. I was gonna use the ol’ “Any friend of Scotticher is a friend of mine,” but purrplebear beat me to it.

dantheman: I think a lot of us had the same idea.

Welcome, moonchilde. Are you in the PNW?

Welcome, Moonchilde. You come recommended by the best.

Jim

Hi, moonchilde! I’m pretty new around here myself, but I’ll add a welcome. Scotticher gave me a welcome when I arrived, plus a hug, and saved my life by recommending armbands against sea-sickness. Her greatness was apparent in mere moments but you probably already know that. Have fun hanging around. I’m sure enjoying it.

Welcome, moonchilde! I am certain you will enjoy slowly getting addicted here…

Scotti is a wonderful, caring woman… but I’m sure you knew that already. Have fun here, and don’t hesitate to ask us for any help, should you need it!

F_X

I am sure moonchilde will be along soon to say hello…he works nights and sleeps days and probably hasn’t been online since I started this thread. It is also possible that he immediately jumped into the pool and is formulating carefully researched posts to GD…I think he is going to be right at home there.

But I wanted to say I appreciate each one of you very much. “Sniff” You all make me very proud to be a member of this community.

Does this mean another person for the next PNW Dopefest? Yeah!

Quite possibly, honey!

And thanks for sharing the Dr. Who video…you are a dollface!

(Bows)

Thank you all for the wonderful welcome. please accept this laurel and hearty handshake

As to your queries: yes, I am in the PNW (live about four miles south of the Peace Arch crossing just outside of Blaine, Washington).

The name “Moonchile” comes from my being born in July, sun sign Cancer, ruled by Selene/Luna, hence a childe of the Moon.

And for all those who have yet to meet Scotti…let’s just say she’s all that and more
Thanks for keeping the hammer down on me to join up, C. I hope I can live up to your, and your mates, high expectations.

As for being an Iron Maiden fan-nopers. I’m more of a Blues/Blues Rock guy. LZ is about as hard as I go (tho I still do have the first two or three Black Sabbath albums stashed somewhere). Give me early Clapton and/or Stevie Ray Vaughn, tho I do have a fairly eclectic collection of music.

As for the rest…I’m not nearly as tall as I should be, a little heavier than I should be, follicly challenged, love walks on the beach, the smell of baking bread, animals, science fiction, and have a Great Love of theatre (doing and seeing), and current events.

Thank you one and all!

Until next time

mc

Welcome! Hope to meet you at a Dopefest soon.

Me like. Me liiiiiike!

Iron Maiden has a song called “Moon Child”, hence my question.

Welcome aboard!
