Question- if you send a PM to someone who does not have PMs enabled. do you get any indication that they will not see the message? Is there somewhere to check in someone’s profile to see if they have PMs enabled (OK, two questions…).

I don’t think you can send a PM to a member who does not have PM’s enabled. Click on my username in this post. It says “send a private message to Contrapuntal.” Now click on Chief Pedant’s post #4 here. It says nothing about PM’s.
It would also appear in his profile.
If you click on the user name in the thread, it shows options. If PM is enabled it will be an option, if not it won’t show.
If you PM someone who does not have PMs enabled, you get this message:
*Username * has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.
