The Division Bell
After the protest
I thought I would see
if I could take a tour
of the Parliament Buildings
only a few blocks away
from where we had been
fighting for our rights
I suppose it was after five o’clock
and the building was closed
but still
it was kind of strange to hear
the Mountie say,
“you can’t go in here,
this is the House of Commons”

It’s beautiful, Matt.
Were I not such a cruel, cold-hearted bastard, I might have shed a tear!

title influenced by pink floyd a wee bit?
As it happens, no. I don’t listen to Pink Floyd, although my brother does. The “division bell” is a bell rung in the British Parliament that indicates that it is time to vote on a bill.
Somebody had to say it. Thanks, FairyChatMom !
