No, but I’ve been in a movie theatre and missed a bit of dialog and felt around for the remote so I could rewind.
In high school one morning I had my usual for breakfast- a bowl of cereal with milk & a little sugar sprinkled on top. I cleaned up as usual, rinsing out my bowl in the sink and putting the sugar bowl back in the cabinet, and headed to the bus stop.
That day when I got home my mom asked why I had filled the sugar bowl with water under the tap and put a dirty cereal bowl and spoon in the cabinet.
No, but I really really want a fob to open your home locks. Unfortunately it looks like it’s going to be another 5 years before the company working on them begins to sell them since the eta is 2015.
No need to wait 5 years. You can buy them now for under $100.
Similarly, I reach to hit control+S for all sorts of non-computer things. Like I was jotting down a quick diagram with pen and paper and my left hand started feeling around for a keyboard so I could “save my work”.
I was browning a pan of stew meat to use in making chili; I don’t remember just what it was that I wanted to pour over the stew meat but what I did pour over it was about a half bottle of PineSol. I was so far out of it that I seriously considered washing the meat and eating it anyway.
I once turned right instead of left on the Pacific Coast highway in San Francisco; I wanted to go to Santa Cruz and ended up on the Golden Gate bridge and still didn’t know what the hell was going on. I remember thinking that the bridge wasn’t there when I drove up from Santa Cruz. I blame some herbs and grape juice for that blunder.
Dear Og, this is one of my greatest fears. I’ve forgotten (that’s not really the right word) to stair step when I’m close to the bottom of the stairs and fallen/scared myself any number of times and I just know that one day I’m going to forget and try to just step from the top landing directly to the bottom.
I think it’s an attention thing - I get distracted or bored with walking downstairs and just want to be at the bottom, so off I go.
