Well, I don’t think conservatives are oppressed or harassed (that’s a little too much drama) but it seems pretty clear by without even doing a poll that liberals outnumber conservatives.
You could just look at the typical thread participation in GD debates and come to that conclusion… unless… you’re also trying to count the “lurkers” who don’t post at all. But then again, why would we assume the lurkers would also participate in the poll?
Yeah, I can’t in good conscience vote on this one due to the way the categories are phrased. I generally but not exclusively vote Democrat, but that’s my own brand of pragmatism - I think poorly of the party and political parties generally. I’m not a joiner. I’d say I’m a little to the left of the mainline Democratic party establishment in a number of respects, yet I don’t believe Republicans as a group are theocratic fascists.
In fact I tend to loathe extreme partisan rhetoric no matter which side it is issuing from. Then again, I’m not a heavy poster to GD political threads, largely for that reason. So while for purposes of GD demographics I’m definitely on the left, for the most part anyone who claims that mean old lefty Tamerlane is bullying them ( and I know all of you do ) is probably exaggerating a tad.
I might fit a little loosely into Sam’s “Liberal Democrat” description, with bleed over into the categories both above and below. But I’d never check it in a real poll because identifying myself as a capital D Democrat would be anathema to me.

Well, hell. Should I restart this poll?
How about:
In the great SDMB left/right split that gets complained about in Great Debates so often (see here for instance), where do you fall in the spectrum?
[ul]
[li]Clothahump[/li][li]Hard Right[/li][li]I can play both sides, but mostly right[/li][li]I don’t really play at all[/li][li]I can play both sides, but mostly left[/li][li]Hard Left[/li][li]Der Trihs[/ul][/li][/QUOTE]
How about not mentioning other posters by name if you decide to restart this poll?
And the previous 8 years? Whenthe Democrats were trying to stop everything the Repulicans were doing? Did that also confirm your bias that conservatives are evil?
Holy Revisionist History, Batman! Do you mean like when 1/3 of House Democrats and more than half of the Senate Democrats voted with Bush on the Iraq Resolution to use military force in Iraq after being snowed by the administration?
Or when they used “reconciliation” in 2001 to prevent a filibuster of the Bush tax cuts?
How about that time they blocked the Patriot Act? Wait, that never happened.
Please provide some cites for major legislation blocked in Bush’s tenure, particularly in his first two years. Then cite for stonewalling without offering any alternatives. I’m dying to hear about this.
