Political Positions of Candidates (US)

Does anyone know a place that I could find the candidates for the next presidential election and their stances on various issues. I’m sure that there’s something out there, but my google-fu isn’t up to snuff.

I’m particularly interested in their positions on affirmative action, funding for colleges, their plans for Iraq, and abortion.

Perhaps this might help a little:

Have you tried www.politics1.com? The site owner is a liberal Democrat, but the candidate information is very accurate.

It’s not exactly everything you could ever ask for, but this is a pretty good place to start: Category:Political positions of politicians - Wikipedia

This place also seems to be ok, but I’d like more answers if you all have them.

Thanks to those who have replied already!

As a general rule for candidate info, you might want to check out Project Vote Smart:

In the interest of seeing both sides of an issue, I strongly urge you to verify everything those sites say with your own googling, at least. And also check what opposition in their own party (as well as the other party) says about them.

The impartiality of a site that blames a “GOP DIRTY TRICKSTER” is questionable.

The commentary is biased. I was referring to the information provided under the “Presidency 2008” section of the website.

Which doesn’t contain anything beyond the barest sketch of biographical details, and links to various websites.

The League of Women Voters has been known for decades for their voters guide. Here is the clearinghouse website.
