After doing a fair bit of reading on the Presidential election, it occurred to me that I know next to nothing about the Senatorial candidates in my state (South Carolina). I caught one of their debates, but there was very little substance. Hell, there wasn’t even any style; both were pretty lousy speakers.
So, is there anything along the lines of Factcheck.org with nonpartisan information on the Senatorial candidates?
This site is created in conjunction with the League of Women Voters, whose dnet.org site is redirected to the congress.org site.
I have checked a few issues on these sites and they appear to be pretty impartial, although I have not examined every candidate and ballot issue.
To find information on local elections, you might try entering “voter information yourstate or yourcity” into Google™. Several sites have been established on the state and municipal level to perform that function, but they are pretty much in the minority for this election.
I have found one more site (for those still looking) that gets down closer to the local level. (Start with your Zip Code and if it encompasses more than one district, the site will ask for more address information or your Zip + 4 to narrow the field even further.
