No None and No. I would love to learn, though.
I learned the simple 3 ball cascade in my college years, and then forgot about it for 40 years. A few months ago I started up again, and can now do 3 ball cascade, half shower, juggler’s tennis, clawed cascade and reverse cascade. I’m practicing also with 3 pound balls to build strength. More fun than yoga or tai chi.
The Klutz book Juggling (yes, it’s what I used to learn how to juggle) taught me this nugget of wisdom:
“People don’t want to know how many things you can juggle; people want to know what’s one more than how many things you can juggle.”
By that reasoning, four. And no tricks. But I can amuse my niece!
i can juggle. nothing fancy, just three of whatever. i’m sure i’m out of practice, i haven’t tried it in years.
i learned one snow day in junior high. my sister and i were bored, so we decided we’d learn how to juggle that day. and we did.
I can juggle three ball. It almost just happened out of the blue. I was fooling around with three dice and after a few tries, I found that I could do it. I never practice so that’s about all tghe juggling I can do.
I was pretty good with 2 ball juggling. When I moverd to three too many errant throws pretty much ruled out me tryng with anything more difficult (read heavier) than balls.
I can juggle three objects, including balls, pins, rings, torches and machetes. I can do the take-a-bite of an apple thing (although I occasionally hurt my teeth), and juggle unusual objects or objects with mismatched weights.
I can go under the leg on both sides, inside and out, around the back with both hands, do double- and triple- spins. I can juggle in four distinct cascade patterns, each with several minor variations.
All that, and a fourth ball still f%$ks me up. Go figure, huh?
thwartme
two in one hand
three balls, rings, or scarves
cascade, reverse cascade, tennis cascade, claw cascade (was taught that one as yuppie cascade - gimme, gimme, gimme), and columns
used to be able to throw in the occasional over the shoulder
could do passing once, but it’s been ages
kinda miss it - should stock up on bags
I can also juggle three things.
Those who can juggle;
Try juggling off of a wall. Or off a full wall mirror (using soft balls off course) for the best effect. IOW, instead of just tossing the balls into the air, direct them off the wall first and then into the air. Takes a little practice but is kind of neat once you get the hang of it.
I can juggle three spherical objects. But not for long. I get distracted and then drop them.
Where did you get the three pound balls?
I made myself some 1kg balls out of several layers of balloons and steel BBs, but they ended up rather larger than I had hoped. I’d like to use small lead shot, but I haven’t been able to find a place that sells it loose… and I don’t feel like buying a bunch of shotgun shells just for the shot.
I can do three balls, pins, or scarves without too much trouble. I learned… goodness, in middle school at some point… I think we juggled a little in phys ed, actually. Once or twice a year the occasion will come up for me to show off and I always get back into it pretty easily. I’m pretty sure I’m coordinated enough to do more, but it’s never really something that has been important enough for me to use precious free time on learning it.
At Wal*Mart. They are made by Danskin, which gave my wife a good laugh – she insists I must turn out my toes while juggling them. They are around 6" in diameter, but easy to handle because they’re soft – they’re inflatable. They tolerate collisions well.
BTW, I’m looking for a substitute for the bags I’m using. They’re suede, and pretty solidly filled, so they’re not super easy to grasp. I was watching the “World Championship of Juggling” on ESPN and what they were using seemed real floppy. What do you like?
- Yes.
- Three.
- Well, yeah, I can juggle. Sheesh.
Yes, 3, “change direction?” not sure if that’s a trick or standard
Yes. Three. Just the one where you throw one ball overhand.
Oh, I forgot: sometimes I do the reverse juggling where you bounce the balls off the ground instead of throwing them up in the air. Try it. (The balls need to be bouncy for this to be effective.)
I can juggle 3 balls, rings or clubs. I can pass, kind of. The only even vaguely interesting thing I can do is 3 balls around in a circle, instead of in the interweaving pattern.
I will always stop to watch a juggler. Always. It drives my wife nuts, but I think it’s the coolest thing to be able to do.
I gave her the old college try, but soon realized that it would take a lot of practice. For me, A Lot.
So nope. I love the corny geeky miracle-working bastards, though.
I juggle, but quite poorly. I can manage three balls in two hands, or two in one hand, and in one shining moment managed to juggle four balls, two in each hand, but without any passing between hands. I don’t really know whether any of that besides the basic stuff counts as juggling, though.
