Bring beer into the theaters all the time. We like to go on a Tuesday and wait until the movie is ready to close. I hate seeing most films in a crowded theater.
The Arclight here sells beers for certain shows and has a bar/restaurant in the lobby. They also give a damn about the picture and sound. I am spoiled for any other theater.
During the original run of “Star Wars”, there was a midnight showing, known as the “stoner show”. No one ever had a problem smoking pot in there, and even though it was certainly against the fire code, the theater was to busy counting the extra money to care what happened.
And to any potential busybodies out there, I do NOT take kindly to strangers telling me what to do in public and will make you dearly wish you had heeded this advice:
