poll: shoe size vs height

5’5", 8 1/2 - 9 wide, depending upon the manufacturer.

I used to wear 8 regular.

I have rather attractive feet, at least according to one guy, but at the moment, I’m desperately in need of a pedicure.

5’5, 7 to 7 1/2

*waves elongated toes at Mercy to make her cry *

I’m 5’4 1/2 (I always include that 1/2 inch) & wear a size 8 (US, women’s).

My second toes are longer than my big toes, but I’ve still been complemented on my feet.

Chacun a son gout.

5’ 1.75" size 8, I always thought my feet were big for my height (if you can call it that), people who are taller than me seem to wear the same size…

I think my feet are cute, despite my ingrown toenails, AND the fact that my second toe is longer than my big toe

5’8" here, and I wear either a 9W or a 10 (I have wide feet). I’ve always thought my feet were “big ass”, but I was talking to three of my friends this weekend and none of them wore below a size 9, either (one wears the same size as me, 10). They range in height from 5’4" to 5’9".

5’2", women’s size 8.

5’5 1/2", size 9 1/2 to 11 depending on the shoe.

5’6" female here with size 7 shoe size

5’ even. I range from a 5-6.

My mother, who is 5’5", wears the same size as I do.

lotta shorties in SDMB!

6’3 size 11.5 - 12 depending on type of shoe!

Female, 6’2", US size 9 (UK size 6)

I’m not quite 5’3". I wear a size 8 or 8 1/2, USA, women’s. My mom wears the same size, only wide after having four kids. (She used to wear a 7.) She’s also two inches taller. My sister is exactly the same as I am. So, women in our family: fairly short, corresponding feet.

My brothers, on the other hand, holy big feet! My 18 yo brother is 6’2" and wears size 15 USA men’s. My youngest brother is 16, 6’0" even and wears 13 or 14. (I haven’t checked on his shoe size for a while.) Dad’s 5’11" and wears 12/13.

I wish I could use my ability to remember shoe sizes and heights for the powers of good, instead of the powers of rather useless.

5’5.5" female here. I wear a 6.5 Wide in US women’s. I used to wear a 6 regular, but 8 years of teaching have taken it’s toll. I still get comments like “Gosh, your shoes belong around a rearview mirror” all the freakin’ time! I also have tiny hands (I wear a size 3 pinky ring) with slender fingers. According to my Mom, I got my paternal grandmother’s feet and hands.

5’9" female, Womens US size 11, but men’s athletic shoes fit better in a size ten than buying a women’s eleven.

Why did I have the idea that the ‘average’ women’s shoe size was a six?

Elysian don’t laugh, but have you ever looked in any specialty shops that cater to cross dressers? There’s one not too very far away from me, and it feels great not only having a large selection in bigger sizes, but finally not having to buy the biggest pair there!

5’ 3" female. I wear size 8 or 9 (depends on the shoes usually).

Women’s feet are larger on average than most people (esp women) think. Women are taller than they used to be and there are tons of women out there with size 9-11 (US shoe size measurement) feet. Re nice womens shoes in larger sizes, Nordstroms is noted for their excellent selection of better womens shoes in larger sizes up to 12.

Personally 6’3" size 13D-E

5’6"-7" female, size 9, usually. I always thought I had big feet but they’re really pretty average. I know this because my size never appears on the sales racks.

I also have cute feet but no one has ever noticed. I probably just need to wear sandals more often. SOMEONE will notice someday, dagnabbit!

Take them skis off’n your feet, child.

I am about 6’/6’1". Size 11 feets. And my second toe is just ever so slightly longer than my first toe. But my feet are quite elegant for a man, especially given my years and years of abusing my feet.

I wanted to point out that in watching Kill Bill vol 1 this weekend I noticed that Uma Thurman has freakishly large feet and hands. And she’s still considered quite attractive by a good chunk of the population, so don’t despair if you have large feet and are of the feminine persuasion.

Yeah, well, that’s why I always wear something on my feet…
