Poll: the most beautiful woman who ever lived

I’m surprised I didn’t see any of my favorites. Here’s a few:

Charlotte Rampling
Emmylou Harris
Helen Mirren
Edie Falco
What’s her name from the Cowboy Junkies
I’ll go along with the girls in the Corrs – pretty much any of them.
Penelope Cruz
Daljit Dhaliwal (bonus points to anyone who knows who she is)

Agreed. Even at her age, she’s breathtaking.

There are so many, though, I can’t pick just one. My friend Christine is goddess-like in her beauty, so I pick her as well.

5th pic down.

Sorry, that tattoo makes her look like a skanky ho.

The CNN anchor, right?

Audrey Hepburn. Why is there even an argument?

I assume you are speaking of famous people. If not, I’ll nominate my college crush, Sagit Barnea. sigh.

Nigella Lawson.
You may now end this discussion as further recourse is pointless.

Hmmmmmm. A “Rocketeer” fan, perhaps?

If we’re restricting ourselves to celebrities, it’s Laetitia Casta.

Frankly, I went to school with better looking women than anyone I’ve seen in movies, though, my wife being tops among them.

Grace Kelly, #1. Audrey Hepburn, or maybe Gigi who used to tend bar and waitress at the Veritable Quandary would be second.

that one astonishingly beautiful redhead I saw when I was a checker at Fred Meyer.

I’m going to assume, from the smiley, that you’re kidding. In no way, shape, or form, is she a “skanky ho.” If you’re not kidding, then you’re a rude asshole.

  1. Claudia Black

  2. Yang Zi Chong(Michelle Yeoh)

These two do not often appear on lists, but have a beauty that transcends, IMHO. Claudia Black is from Farscape, Michelle Yeoh is from…well, a ton of movies.

Er… I can see why you might take great exception to my comment if you haven’t seen the patronizing "Girls, stop getting all of these tattoos, ya look skanky."thread (you may wish to contribute…).

Your friend, in my opinion, is absolutely gorgeous and nothing skanky about her at all.

It’s funny how subjective beauty is. Gwyneth Paltrow, to me, is rather average-looking. Very talented actress, yes. Great smile, yes. Beautiful? Not to me. Elle MacPherson is certainly very attractive in a lanky, outdoorsy sort of way, but beautiful? Not to me.

I’d go with Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Vivian Leigh, Laetitia Casta, Isabelle Adjani, Sophia Loren at 25 (not that all her other ages were bad either - but that wedding picture from Houseboat - oh my), Grace Kelly . . . I’m sure there are many others I can’t think of right now.

It’s sort of sad that no one seems to remember any of the “Professional Beauties” of the Victorian era.

For nostalgia’s sake, I nominate Lily Langtry.

My two favorites are contemporary: Cameron Diaz (go watch ‘there’s something about Mary’ again and watch how her smile lights up every frame she’s in); and the former Victoria’s Secret model Frederique something-something–her lips, eyes, and cleavage are a triple whammy.

Kate Hudson. Especially if she shares her mom’s ability to age gracefully.

Actually yes. I always liked the movie, but I didn’t discover the graphic novel until years later, when I realized that Jennifer Connelly’s “Jenny Blake” character was actually supposed to BE Bettie Page. (I guess Disney didn’t want a “nudie”/bondage/fetish model named in one of their movies.) But both women are classic beauties, and Connelly has never been prettier than in The Rocketeer.

I’m sticking with Michelle Pfeiffer, with Audrey Hepburn a close second, and Laetitia Casta in third.

The young lady in the picture above her is also rather fetching.
