Cultural Events: Sorry, we live in Michigan. Where the only culture we have in in Yogurt. Thou Escanaba in da Moonlight runs a close second.

The OP refers to culture around where she is, not something she can watch on TV. A cultural couch potato is an oxymoron. Hell, I saw an opera once when I was channel surfing and have been to King Tut’s tomb on the Discovery Channel, but that doesn’t count.
