I could go for that. I’ve been thinking about a COW coalition and forgot about Hawaii. A CHOW coalition, then.
That would be preferable, at this point. Both from the viewpoint of being free of the parasitic & evil Red States, and from the practical standpoint it would be economically workable. A large population, diverse resources, a developed economy and especially plenty of coastal access help make for a viable potential nation.
Unless Hawaii wanted to be independent. Economically, they’d be better off in CHOW; but they do have a case that they were illegally annexed.
There are a lot of military bases on the Left Coast and Hawaii. Would we lease them to the Red States of America? Kick the Reds out, like the Philippines did to the U.S.? Would all National Guard equipment pass to the Pacific states?
All of that would be subject to whatever negotiations take place to make separation legal. As such, it’s practically impossible to know which concessions would be made by which sides, it’s too dependent upon the who, when, and why of such talks. I’m sure everyone can list their preferences, but until the ink is dry on the treaties, we won’t know for sure.
I fear such balkanization of the U.S. would result in more than a few wars down the line.
Better than just being rounded up and put in concentration camps with no ability to fight back, which is the direction we are presently headed.
Also, the Red States would probably largely collapse without the rest of the country propping them up. They are incompetent and parasitic, and highly dependent on the more functional Blue States to not just fall into kleptocracy, starvation, decay and internal massacres.
They’ll make sure to take the blue states with them if that happens.
I presume that either the Blue states have the nuclear weapons or that they’ve all been destroyed, or the Reds will try to destroy civilization on general principles; if they can’t control the world, then they’ll kill it.
