Today is George R. R. Martin’s 75th birthday. He was 63 when he began writing The Winds of Winter which no longer even has a tentative publication date after failing to meet several previous deadlines. He’s also stated repeatedly, and at least as recently as 2019, that he will not begin to write the 7th and final book in the series, A Dream of Spring, until he’s finished writing The Winds of Winter.

You believe that:

  • He’ll publish novel #6 of 7 The Winds of Winter before he dies
  • He’ll publish novel #7 of 7 A Dream of Spring before he dies
  • He’ll at least finish writing The Winds of Winter before he dies
  • He’ll at least finish writing A Dream of Spring before he dies
  • He’ll at least have started writing A Dream of Spring before he dies
  • At this rate he’ll die before finishing The Winds of Winter
  • At this rate he’ll die before writing any of A Dream of Spring
