Okay, I realize this is very nearly a dumb question. (However, none of my friends knew the answer, obviously we are not attuned to pop culture.) I know that Jessica Simpson is famous and I know what she looks like. However, I do not know why she is famous. Because she’s been on TV? A lot? Other than smiling and looking good, what does she do?
I actually leafed through a bunch of magazines like US and yes, I saw her picture. A lot. It just brought up more questions. (Like: people are actually marrying other people they meet on reality shows? It’s not like My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancee–they are getting legally hitched, to someone they picked out of a group of . . . average joes, for instance? No, don’t answer this, I probably don’t wanna hear it. Just tell me why JS is famous.)
and, of the 4 young, hot blonde pop singers who hit at roughly the same time(Britney,Xtina,Willa Ford, and Simpson), she is the most talented singer. She also gained notoriety for being a virgin until marriage.
She’s a lower-level pop singer who married an ex-boyband-er, Nick Lachey from 98 Degrees. That was enough to get them a show on MTV, which multiplied her fame by tenfold, at least.
Mandy Moore, on the other hand, is a three-hit wonder. She’s also the sister of a gay fella whose best friend I spent two years trying to pork. So, my claim to fame is five degrees of Andy Roddick…
Don’t feel so bad. I didn’t have a clue about her either.
Same goes with those “simple life” girls. At first, I thought the Hilton girl was only famous because of her internet porn. heh heh. Who knew she was famous for, um,. ahh… scratches head
Did Jessica Simpson sing that song that ripped off “Jack & Diane”, or was that one of the other ones? I know it wasn’t one of the big 2 (Britney or Xtina).
Not that I really care, mind you, but I only heard that song twice and always wondered who it was.
I would like to be the meat in a Jessica/Britney sandwich. There would be no shortage of “secret sauce”!

I took an acting class with Mandy Moore’s brother Scott at the University of Florida in early 2000–are we talking about the same guy? Do WE know each other?
