Porn searches on Google (SFW)

I may be mistaken. I remember when I was struggling with search syntax a few years ago reading online commentary that something changed with it. But I don’t have a cite, and playing around with it now, I agree that it does seem to work okay.

It is kind of odd that putting in quotation marks around the phrase somehow screws up the -video part in OP’s search. I’m not sure what’s going on there.

This happens to me more often on ebay for some reason. I’ll search some some technical thing and the results include something like ‘sexy slimming girdle’ or ‘new for 2022, high cut bikini’ with preview photos of nearly nude women. Not fully pornagraphic, I suppose, but it’s a little jarring and nothing I want on my work computer.

I tried that search (without the quotes):
1st result:
“Dark nipples: 7 causes and when to see a doctor” from medicalnewstoday.com

2nd result:
"Darkened Areolas Causes Explained by Dr. Jill " from tampabayparenting.com

3rd result:
“Dark Nipples: Causes, Symptoms to Watch For, and More” from healthline.com

etc.

On the first page of results, there’s one hit from Reddit – everything else is purely medical in nature. I have to go down to the last 2 results on the second page to get any sort of porn results. Even the first few rows of pictures are largely medical in nature. Only the video results are similar to what you’re seeing, and even then, the very top result is medical/cosmetic in nature.

Now if I put the phrase in quotes, THEN it switches to all porn results.

I may be guilty of drinking the Google-aid, but according to Google, quotation marks still allow you to do an exact match search.

My kids liked the Australian kids band The Wiggles.

I wanted to take them to a concert, so I googled '‘Wiggles Tickets’ (or something similar) and found a strip club somewhere.

Yes, I was at work at the time.

Perhaps you inadvertently searched for “Jiggles All Nude Vixens.” That’s an easy typo to make. The subconscious mind works in mysterious ways.

99% of the internet is porn. Google is an uncensored search engine even if you toggle certain settings. You’re simply enabling an imperfect filter.

Pro tip: Don’t use Google on a work network.

If you need to look for something on Google at work use you phone (with Wi-Fi off) and then transfer it over.

To answer the OP directly: No there’s no way to completely filter out pornographic results completely. Google errs on the side of showing you things you don’t want to see vs. removing things that might be relevant. The filter is an imperfect solution but there’s trade offs.

No, I want porn; just for the results to not be completely dominated by videos. Specifically I’d like to search for certain porn-y phrases that might appear in story archives; but that’s impossible as long as xxxvideos are 99% of all hits.

My apologies. Maybe i read the OP too quickly and misunderstood.

Far be it for me to stand between a man and his porn.

Maybe. It’s like the time I tried to google ‘Financial adviser for retirement funds’ and accidentally misspelled it as ‘Sexy Massage Therapists in your area’.
