Portable speakers for mp3 player?

I’m looking for recommendations for some small speakers for my mp3 player. I want to be able to go out for walks with my twins in their stroller and listen to music without having to use headphones. It’s a bitty player that runs off a single AAA battery, so I need speakers with their own batteries, small sized, with decent sound–obviously I’ll have to sacrifice some quality, but I’d like it not to be too horribly tinny. Oh yeah, and inexpensive; under $50, preferably a lot less than that.

I’ve looked around for some reviews, but there isn’t a whole lot of info on the low-priced ones. I’m seeing a boatload of no-name speakers on eBay like this; they’re cheap, sure, but are they even worth considering? Any others I should look at?

Bump…anybody?

I got a totally no-name one at the local walmart to use in the bathroom, since there’s only one electrical plug in the room WAY over the sink mirror. Think it might be an Ilo or something, the brand only shows up in a logo that’s kinduv hard to read.

But it was worth it. Pretty good sound quality for such a little thing, runs off 4 AA batteries, and has a headphone cable to plug into just about anything.

I looked around quite a bit to find something that would give me decent sound quality in the car. This from Brookstone is what I finally went with, with satisfactory results.

I don’t use any of the floating/waterproof features, I just use it as a speaker.

Check on eBay for Monster iSpeakers. I have a set. They fold to about the size of a double CD case (maybe a little thicker) and run off AA batteries. I’m pretty happy with mine.

Thanks for the suggestions! I found a set of the iSpeakers and bid on them; won the auction for $4.99 +9.99 shipping (yeah, way inflated shipping cost, but the total price is very reasonable), so I should be strolling with my tunes very soon.
