Looking for a good mp3 player with Bluetooth capability in the $60 or less range. 4g is plenty but 8g would be nice. I don’t need a lot of features, I basically just want to listen to a playlist or library while hiking, running, or working out. I have an inexpensive set of Bluetooth earbuds that I pair with my phone, but want something smaller than a smartphone in my pocket.
Any recommendations?
There are plenty if you just look for “bluetooth mp3 player” on Amazon. Pretty much anything down in the $40-ish price range is going to be equivalent. None of the major brands make a Bluetooth-capable MP3 player down in that range, so far as I can see.
If all you want is just to not have to carry a big thing in your pocket, have you considered a set of MP3 player headphones? Like these, perhaps. The player is built into the headphone part; you load things onto it via USB cable, and then just go. 4GB of storage is not unusual, and some of them also take microSD cards.
If you want something with a display that you can look at on occasion, then I suggest something in the SanDisk Sansa Clip range. They are cheap, they are tiny, and they come on spring-loaded clips that hold quite nicely onto the headband of your favorite headphones. I used to use exactly that arrangement while I was working out, until I finally found Bluetooth earbuds I liked and a reasonably safe place to put my phone down while I was sweating.
