Positive Gun News of the Day

The above bolded statement is false.

And sticking to the theme of the thread, in other news, Man Who Shot, Killed Intruder Is A Former Police Officer

Prowler chose his target poorly.

Here it is.

In other news, Police investigating shooting of would-be armed robber

This article is pretty sparse. I would prefer to carry on my person, rather than in a bag myself.

It did just fine for her.
“Gimme your dough!”
“Sure, I’ll get it out of my purse…”

That’s how it’ll have to go for me. As a female, I’ve rarely got pockets or roomy clothes.

You get a holster, and a Bedazzler…

There are bra holsters out there - Flashbang makes one. I’m not convinced of the safety of them after watching some vids of their deployment but that’s a preference item. I think a IWB holster like the Crossbreed models would work on most folks.

In other news, Police: Phoenix homeowner shot suspected burglar in leg

Breaking into people’s property is risky business. DGU with no deaths.

In other news, Tulsa Police: Homeowner Shoots, Kills Intruder

4 hits and was still able to retreat and drive for a brief time. Shot placement is critical.

The story does not mention the caliber of the weapon.

With underpowered weapons, placement is even more critical.

You’re really a wannabe soldier, aren’t you? You’ve got the lingo and the dehumanization down pat.

In other news, Deputies: Retired JSO officer shoots bank robber

DGU with no deaths. Also interesting was again as in the previous incident, after being shot twice, the bank robber was able to retreat to where he attempted to escape via car. He was then detained by other police. Two hits were insufficient to immediately incapacitate.

How would you phrase the same thoughts?

“He can’t shoot worth sh-t.”

Yes, that is a possibility. Let’s put a pin in that. I think we should also consider “He didn’t use enough gun.”

Va. will once again recognize concealed carry permits from other states Last month, the Attorney General of Virginia essentially rescinded CCW reciprocity for most states that were deemed to not comply with Virginia’s standards. Since that time, there has been much consternation and protest. That changed yesterday when Governor McAuliffe reversed course and restored reciprocity with nearly all states. This is good news and another defeat for McAuliffe. He did manage to extract some concessions, all of which are not really concessions. They are:

Revocation of a permit for cause shouldn’t lead to forum shopping to get an out of state permit, so that’s fine. Voluntary background checks are no problem. And federal law already prohibits someone with a PPO so that’s nothing either.

I think the Attorney General and Governor just folded that loser of a hand they dealt themselves. It does get better, in response to the previous maneuver, the Virginia legislature has put forward a number of bills that are currently moving forward, including constitutional carry. I’m not optimistic that it will eventually pass anymore since out of state CCWs will be recognized.

In other news, Police: Macon man shot, killed Sunday was trying to rob men

This just seems like a really poorly conceived plan, introducing a third potential victim who knows you are up to no good and has time to prepare. The 2nd suspect that didn’t end up dead turned himself in. 2vs2 unarmed turned into 2 vs. 3 with one of the three armed.

The popular remark seems appropriate; If they were intelligent, they would have jobs.
