The Daily Show stuff on the trip last night shows the problem. Jon Stewart asked if he’d make a gaffe, say a geographical one, and then showed McCain screwing up. Obama even sank the 3 point shot. (I could see a “black guy makes a basket - big deal” joke.) The funny stuff was really about the media and how the MSM (except for Fox) has boners for him.
For McCain the writers open their “old” joke file. For Bush the “moron” file. For Clinton the “sex crazy guy” file and for Gore and Kerry the “no personality” file. But there don’t seem to be any standard sets that fit Obama.
In this thread, the light bulb joke was by far the best, since it worked naturally with change.

For what it’s worth, I’ve told this joke to several people, both Obama supporters and people of unknown affiliation, and they all got a laugh out of it.

I thought Colbert(or was it Stewart?) did well with the clip of Obama making the three. Roughly: ‘Oh yeah he made the shot, but he didn’t …(runs off a list of basketball defensive plays)…, which just goes to prove that he is weak on defense.’
