I get why post-count parties are disallowed (at least I think their disallowed, I didn’t see it specifically mentioned in the Registration Agreement) because with ten thousand members that would mean a heck of a lot of threads. I think post-padding is also frowned upon.
Or is it an informal rule? Does someone with .33 posts per day since joining in 2000 necessarily fall under the same rational for the ban? Would posting a congratulatory woo-hoo in such a thread, knowing that the thread in general is frowned upon, be naughty?
Thanks,
Rhythm
Each forum can have its own rules in addition to the ones in the Registration Agreement, so definitely take a look at the stickies at the top of each forum before posting. In this case, in MPSIMS, we’ve explained that post count and other post-padding (and truly pointless) threads will be closed.
I don’t hand out warnings for them, though (either the OP or the thread participants), and I can’t think of why I would unless someone persistently started the same type of thread after being told to stop doing so.
Thanks. Forgot about the individual forum rules.
I hope suranyi doesn’t start one every eight years – what a banning that would be!
Again, thanks for taking the time to answer my question.
