Post here if you have been lurking for the duration of the paid memberships

I have been a “member” of this board since day 1, but have been a lurker for a majority of that time. When the board switched to a pay to post I stopped posting all together.

So post here if you have been leeching off of this site like I have.

Have been a lurker for a long time… never joined until today…

Don’t actually remember when I joined, but I do remember running out of free posts real fast. Been lurking ever since, as I’m a cheap SOB.

I lurked for a few months before I guested last summer, then held out for the free site. Ha!

I let my subscription expire last time it was up because it was no longer with it for me - I had become too busy to make it worth the money. So I’m back now, but still busier than ever.

Oh goodie…new people!

You may not know when you joined, but I’ll take a random stab and guess April of 2003. What do I win?

I’m only posting to find out when I signed up. I intend to lurk further.

Hi all.

I joined in Dec 03. This is (I think) my first post.

I’ve lurked for 10 years, since I was 13. I had an account ages ago, when it was still free, but for some reason, my computer ran VERY slow on this site, and I could hardly use it. So, now I’m back. I think I’ll stick around this time.

Me.

Had a change of job which required cutting back on non-essentials. This also coincided with my not having much to say, so it wasn’t bad.

I paid up the first time the boards went pay to post.

Bought a new home and had to let the non essentials slide.

I’ve been a lurker here for years. I want to say 2006, but not sure. Registered a little under a month ago to see if someone could help me find a book series I was searching for.

Yay! Free posting! I had a temporary membership a couple of years ago, but I live off loans, so…

Yes, I’ve just been very, very quiet for several years.

I was an “old regular” from Snopes from way back when. People kept referencing the Straight Dope on that board. I came over back when the board was on AOL and I couldn’t see it. I read pretty much the entire archive. Then one day they moved to the real internet. It took me a few months to join in, and I was never a very prolific poster. Then life got in the way, and my job and family made it so I could rarely even read the boards. Paying to post was the final straw. About a year ago I decided to check back, and there were rumors of moving back to free so I checked in from time to time. Started the addiction again, but thought there were way too few voices, especially the ones I knew from way back when.

Kind of feels like a reunion to be back, even though I doubt anyone remembers me. I didn’t ever add anything of much substance, just usually a toungue in cheek comment.

I’ve been lurking for at least three years (after running into the LotR mega-thread quoted somewhere else) and I think I know everyone here at least 5,721 times better than they know me. Creepy, huh?

I have been an occasional reader rather than a full on lurker but it is nice to be able to log in again and say something if I wish.

I remember you! I’m a King fan…

Welcome back!

This is so cool to see so many old-timers coming back!

Paid for the first year of subscriptions, but been reading for a while.
