I wasn’t a very active poster when I could post before, but I’ve been a constant lurker through the years. It’ll be nice to chime in occasionally when the urge strikes. So many "Yeah, me too!"s got held in throughout the years.
Lurked for about four years, then I posted until my guest membership expired and lurked some more.
I have posted a lot in the past, but last year unreasonable and unconscionable limitations were placed on my ability to post by certain Dope administrators. I had determined that I would quit the board when my membership ran out this spring, and did so.
I did so because if I had paid money to post on a board whose rulings I found so unreasonable and frankly, stupid, my opinion of my own intelligence would be even lower than my opinion of the intelligence of the people who limited my ability to post.
Now that the board is free to post, I am willing to share my wisdom and make enquiries as I see fit, even though there are many on this board who do not deserve such largesse. But there are other who do. I await the grateful thanks of Dopers everywhere. Or you could just send money.
Been a lurker since…2002? There were a handful of threads I thought I could be helpful on, but the moment passed.
I do believe we’ll have to re-post all this next week (if I read the sticky correctly), given that we’re going from “guest” to “members”.
I’m excited to be able to contribute for the first time ever - instead of just sponge off of everyone like in the past!

I have been reading the boards since about 2000, when bored.com led me here. This is the finest place of insanity on the internet and I am really excited about finally being able to speak (in a manner of speaking) instead of just listening.

Also back. I lurked the entire time during pay-to-post. I was never prolific to begin with, was unemployed when it went to the pay model, and afterward it didn’t seem worth it when I’d already been just reading for several months, and was more or less used to it.
On the rare occasion I feel an impulse to join in, I may actually act on it now.

Yeah, I’ve been lurking since the last millennium, too. I think it is a benign addiction. Signed up and posted a little bit, apparently in 2004, since I last “visited” 8/17/2004. Doesn’t seem it has been that long. Won’t post much, but will be glad to be able to say it when I have something to say.

Apparently this is the first time I’ve logged in since August 2004, though I’ve kept reading. It’s good to be back, though I doubt I’ll post all that often.

Marvelous! I couldn’t justify re-subscribing this year - we bought a house and it’s eating all our dollars. I’ve been lurking all along, though.
I have lurked since around 2002; had the free thirty-day pass earlier this year, but completely forgot my password and no longer have the email for it, so couldn’t log in under that name. I like this one better anyway; will I be considered a sock? I don’t want to start off screwing up already.
