I love that shot and was hoping someone would post it. Here’s another of someone underwater in a Florida spring:
Beautiful? I dunno, but here are a some cool oaks:
Beautiful? To me. My great great great grandfather.
Fabulous photos, kudos to you all.
And thanks for a great thread!
That is amazing, in so many ways. Thank you for my new background! And a new site to browse, too.
You’re welcome, and that’ll be a dollar.
Is that Bang Na-Trat Road?
I’ve linked to these of Bangkok on the Board before.
As I have these old Life-magazine photos of the city.
I don’t even understand what you’re trying to say here.
Great thread idea.

I’ve also always liked Civil War-era portraiture:

Nightview, New York. Berenice Abbott, 1932.
I don’t know what it is about this photograph, but I’m totally entranced by it. I have this desire to be able to transport myself into that world and explore it.
Thanks for sharing.
While not as beautiful as some of the artistic photos posted here, I like this picture of my mom & dad on their wedding day in 1956.

The New York crime photographer “Weegee” (Arthur Fellig) took some great B&W shots:

Elendil’s Heir, those are great! I especially love the kissing couple and the family on Easter.
What’s Mario doing in the movie one (look to the left of the couple)???
Hmmm. I hadn’t noticed that before. Is it part of the original photo? A cardboard joke fan that just looks like Mario, maybe?
Tell your mom I like her dress.
The only black and white picture I have is the same type as yours. My paternal grandparents’ wedding day. The only picture I own of my grandma (she died before I was born), and the only picture I have of my grandpa in his early 20s.
I’ve got tons of faves by other folks, but these ones are favorites from amongst my own stuff.
