Trying to post (or quickpost) with the Standard Editor setting, which is what I normally do, keeps telling my my posts aren’t long enough and need to be more than 2 characters in length, which they definitely are. Switching to Basic Editor seems to let me post, at least sometimes (it failed the first time I went to post this, then worked the second time, ???). Guess a hamster needs replacing or flogging or something good like that.
It doesn’t count anything inside a quote box – might that be the problem?
Okay, it seems to affect basic editor too, but lets me post following a page refresh. I’ve switched back to standard, and it seems to work so long as I do a page refresh before hitting preview or reply. Haven’t tried quickpost this way.
@Twickster - no, I had plenty besides quotes.
Now I’m not having problems. Weird. Hamster on lunch break I guess.
Spoke too soon. It’s still doing it, but letting me post after a refresh or if I’ve just entered the topic. If I actually take time and read a long topic, gives the error.
If you’re still having the problem (and restarting the web browser didn’t help) try clearing your cookies. Google how to do it for your web browser. If that doesn’t work, try a reinstall or creating a new profile.
If you aren’t still having problems, I’d be curious what you did to fix it.
Sorry for the lateness of this post, but it appears the problem was related to the FoxReplace addon. A google search turned up an older post here talking about it, so I changed some settings and the issues hopefully will be gone. It’s worth noting that after my last post here I also started to notice the same issues on other vbulletin boards, so it was totally on my end.
