I’ll start the ball rollling, just found this one, although it’ll mean little to anyonw outside the UK… http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/media/story.jsp?story=507170
David Lister, Arts Editor. Hee.
Actually I was just going to ask if this press release from Google is an April Fools joke. If so, CNN, the New York Times, and CNET have all fallen for it. I’d tend to be suspicious of Google PR on April Fools Day.
The Google thing is a joke.
And I say that because the notion of offering up 1GB per user is ludicrous.
The MSNBC story on it makes it even more suspicious sounding.
I put my e-mail into the “Interested in an account? Let us send you info!” field. We’ll see what happens.
Who didn’t?
[off-topic a bit, but just a bit]
Apparently, Google recently bought the domain from NetConcept.com.
Maybe someone there will speak up.
Don’t be too sure it’s a joke. CNN reported on the Google E-Mail back in January.
And their April Fools Day joke is here.
Interesting. Perhaps this is that clever marketing thing where you offer up a real press release on 1 April and, depending on the reaction, you either offer it up as a joke or as something real.
I know a couple radio stations did this, and Microsoft did it once, I believe.
I’m skeptic about it, but I guess we’ll find out eventually.
Earlier today www.drudgereport.com had that story listed as an April fool’s joke, now it links to the New York times article. Hmmmm.
Do you guys think this is an April Fool’s?

Looks like just another “looks like perpetual motion!” claims. It doesn’t seem funny or interesting enough to be a joke, but I’m not sure.
Peter Mandelson, new BBC chairman. Heh heh!
Brilliant!
They have certainly put a lot of effort into it…

The latest BMW ad
BMW have got a good advert in today’s Times. They talk about a new feature in their vehicles where you can link your car to the microwave oven in your kitchen via a sat. nav. system. Using this you can turn on the oven from your car and start the cooking process. Because of the navigation system the oven knows how far from home you are and adjusts its cooking time so that the meal is perfectly cooked when you arrive home.
dang, you beat me to it !
