I don’t own this particular one but now that I’ve found it, I must have it.
I’m asking for one of these for my birthday!
I have a very small kitchen; no real counter space. I have a 12-cup Cuisinart coffee maker and a really crappy toaster (that lives in a cabinet) and that’s it. My most valuable appliance is my dishwasher.
I have a Nespresso. That’s a capsule based espresso/cappuccino machine made by Nestle. I can whip up an espresso faster than a cup of tea. Here’s a pic
Ron Popeil Rotisserie! Awesome!
I got a KitchenAid Artesian Mixer in Tangerine Orange for Christmas. I love my mixer. You know that commercial where the KitchenAid is in the baby carriage and the woman is cooing at it? I know exactly how she feels.
I’m still in the honeymoon phase with it. I use it for everything regardless of how small. Scrambled eggs? Right in the mixer. Pudding? Mixer. I know it’s insane - it takes longer to clean the mixer than it did to make the food - but I can’t help myself.
I was disappointed with the power of my hand blender, so I built a homogenizer head for my RotoZip.
At 30,000 rpm, It purees peppers a treat.
I am the Queen of Kitchen gadgets.
Every year for Christmas my Grandma feels the need to get me the latest kitchen fad.
My favorite is Henrietta. It is an egg cooker in the shape of a chicken that chirps when the eggs are done. You can make hard, soft, or medium boiled eggs, or poached. I love that little chicken.
I have the pancake pan that has the lid hinged on that is a second frying pan, so you don’t need a spatula. Yea that one is not a good design.
All of the standards plus a sandwich maker, a Forman Grill, some of that new flexable plastic cooking pans, and many other little gadgets.
I love my Grandama
I’m not sure it’s “interesting,” but I am immensely fond of my George Foreman Grill. If I had to pick just one appliance, this would be the one. I’d even choose it over my microwave oven. It’s difficult to imagine what life was like before I got this gizmo.
When my brother sent it to me in his annual package of oddball Christmas presents, I had a very “WTF” reaction. Lemme tell you though, this thing will get the burnt-on scunge off of a casserole dish like you wouldn’t believe.
Probably my pizzelle iron. I learned to make these from an Italian neighbor way back when, and have been playing around with them ever since. My favorite trick is to make giant cookies by slathering a scoop of melted white chocolate between two pizzelles.
For christmas, my mom got me an electric cheeze grater.
On the list of “Easy ways to loose a finger”…
Easier to ask what I don’t have in my kitchen. I have a horrible weakness for gizmos and gadgets.
I agree with fighting ignorant : the Popiel rotisserie is indeed awesome. My dad got me one, and I love it too. Makes the most awesome prime rib.
Not all that exotic, but I have one of these which is absolutely unparalled when you need very, very thin slices of something.
And I have a vacuum tumble marinator, which is really cool. Gets the flavor all the way through the meat, and does it in a very short time.
Things on my wish list include a good scale that zeroes out for the weight of the bowl and a Japanese turning slicer and more Le Creuset, and…and…and…
OMG, that is cool, I mean really cool…really geeky and cool!
How about a refrigerated stove? I kid you not; it’ll heat up dinner then cool it off because it’s too hot to eat! As someone who doesn’t cook I was extremely confused. I saw it at a store that also had a fridge that receives e-mail. What will they think of next? A toaster that cooks eggs? Oh, wait, they have (post #2).
PS-I don’t own this nor apparently do many people; Whirlpool doesn’t list it on its website any more.
