Post Your Survivor Spoilers Here! WARNING: SPOILERS!!!!

Exactly!

From S1: Didn’t Richard only win one immunity challenge? The fire-making one, where he did that little dance?
And I think the only reason Kelly made it the final two is all the immunity challenges she won at the end.

I signed up for the Yahoo Pick 'Em also. Showing just a shade more creativity than Jeannie, I have made my handle “SunshineSays”.

Plus, on a random fluke, I decided that Diane looked the most annoying and put 25 points on her to be chucked. Apparently, some people, (as I see from the leaderboard there) risk it all on one person. Perhaps I will re-think my strategy of selecting a few and spreading the wealth.

but should/could/would someone start a new thread for episode #2, maybe on the day of the show.

At this rate, this thread would have almost a thousand posts by the end of the show. Maybe it would be easier if we had a new one each week.

Could the Original Poster start the new “Official Episode #2, Survivor #3” thread?

It should be Survivor three. But I don’t think we need a new one for each show. The other two survivor series didn’t require them & eventually the number of messages drop after the first week, youll see.

What a great show. The ratings are lukewarm. I hope Fox allows this one to grow. The cast is incredible. Not a weak link among the 6 main characters. As long as they keep the Dad to a minimum this show has very few flaws.

Oops! I meant this as a new thread. Moderator, could you PLEASE delete my ignorance!

Taping for the show ended on August 19. Supposedly, Lindsey was admitted to a hospital, for unknown reasons, in early August. I read this in a magazine but they gave their source as an item posted at Survivornews.net on September 30.

WARNING!!! MAJOR SPOILER!!!

This week’s Ellipsiiis Brain Trust Prediction:

[sub]Very cryptic as always, but apparently Clarence will steal something again! They will be drinking blood for the food challenge, and their reactions will be extremely graphic and dramatic. Someone they’re calling “Chip” screws everyone over and gets away with it! Reward is won by Samburu. Reward is water. The one booted will be Linda Spencer.

Does anyone know who is nicknamed Chip?[/sub]

Lib, I’m not pissed or anything, but you should have labelled that as an episode #2 spoiler. The reason we labelled it “spoilers” last season is because of the long delay (couple of weeks) in Australia.

It’s also been my minor experience that any spoiler that leaks out before the episode is usually wrong. But we’ll see!

Libertarian, according to this link at SurvivorFever.net:
http://www.survivorfever.net/ContestantsAfrica.html Silas is nicknamed Chip. From the CBS preview, it looks like he’s trying to play both subgroups (the youngsters and the oldsters) in the Samburus.

FWIW, I’m betting Brandon is gone unless he proves himself useful in the challenges.

I have a complete transcript of the first episode if anyone wants it, email me. 246k bytes zipped. Has some small photos with it. Doesn’t show who says what most of the time; but the dialogue is all there.

Do we need a new thread?
I don’t think so.
However, there’s no reason any one of you couldn’t start a new thread whenever you see fit. I don’t see why the same poster would need to start each thread - it’s not “Ask the Survivor”.

SPOILERS

Jessie! Noooooooooooooooooooooo

I had her going far. Sucks to be Boran right about now.

Allright fine. If nobody else wants to post to this thread, I’ll waste my 800th post and follow-up my own comments (I can feel my palms getting hairier as I type).

I really don’t have much to say about this episode that hasn’t already been said much better over at David B.'s excellent site. I just wanted to reiterate: “Didn’t any of these people watch the first two Survivors?”

I mean it’s like watching Marlin Perkins out there. The Samburu lions circling the Boran gazelle’s, looking for the weakest member of the tribe to pick off. And damn if Boran isn’t nice enough to offer one up each week. Granted, a lot of it is their own fault. Water? We don’t need no stinking water! Fire? We tried rubbing sticks together, that didn’t work, guess we’re screwed (Lex, Put that telescope down!).

I’ll be the first to admit, Samburu seems to be chock-full of idiots too, but Boran just isn’t even trying.

Poor Jessie, she had sacrificial lamb written all over her. I really thought she was going to pull a Colleen or Elisabeth and become the cute, perky woman who everyone rallied around. Not to be though. She just sat around complaining how bad the water tasted, and how sick she was. And really now, who else in the tribe is gonig to try to ally with a gazelle with a metaphorical broken leg.?

I blame it all on those glasses. In all the pre-Survivor press, this girl is a knockout. But she must be blind as a bat without her contacts 'cause once in Africa she pulls out these librarian style glasses and proceeds to fade into the background (No offense to librarians or women who wear glasses, those just weren’t the style for her to go on national TV wearing).

Of course we probably aren’t seeing the full story, condensing three days worth of events into 40 plus minutes of footage gives CBS ample opportunity to slant the show. Has anyone signed up for the expanded Survivor feed from real.com yet?

I have to disagree about the glasses, pcubed. When Elisabeth wore her nerdy glasses last time they just made her even more adorable, and I felt the same about Jessie’s.

Jessie’s ouster last night had nothing to do with her looks; I’m sure that’s not a factor for any of the Boran. She’s weak and had to go. It’s as simple as that.

Actually, last night’s tribal council was interesting, because as we went into it I had absolutely no clue who would get voted off and that’s the first time I can remember that happening.

Usually there’s one or two who seems most likely, but last night there was:

Clarence, still on everyone’s blacklist (NPI).
Jessie, who’s sick.
Kelly, who lost the immunity for them.
What’shername who fell during the reward challenge.

I honestly thought any one was as likely as another going into the council.

Does anyone else think, as I do, that the previews of Lindsey’s injury next week must indicate a red herring?

Actually, I would have gotten rid of the woman that fell. She not only tripped, she stayed on the ground. Jessie went back and got her. And if you watched the other Survivor shows, it’s obviouse that there’s always someone that takes a couple of days to adjust. I would have dumped the older woman, like it or not, Jessie held up during the reward challenge.
Also, during the immunity challenge, I have to say that I think the one woman spilled a fair amount down her face. That should have been called by Jeff.

Yeah, did you watch that closely? To me at least it looked like there were a couple of times that she was about ready to hurl. If Sambuca had picked her for the blood-funnel, I don’t think it would’ve been pretty.

Fiver, I may have been too harsh about the glasses. You’re right, 'Lisbeth was adorable with them. I think it was just Jessie’s attitude and health that made them seem out of place.

No! I just wrote out a big review of the episode and I hit ‘back’ to check someone’s post. Damn! Well, here goes again:

Great episode. I’ve got a few thoughts:

Boran
Personally, I don’t think Clarence will be leaving any time soon, and I don’t think he was in danger of being voted off last night. He’s too strong, and too useful right now to the tribe. Sure, he’s completely vulnerable, but losing his strength would be a complete liability.

I really think that Kim should have been voted off. Jessie seemed to be getting a little stronger, and Kim’s fall looked like something that’s going to happen again. I think her age may play a factor later.

As for the alliance here, it’s really on shaky ground. Lex and Ethan are a great pair, but Tom isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. I don’t think he’s playing up his country bumpkinness like Roger was last season - I just think that he’s going to grate on people’s nerves. If I had been Lex or Ethan, I would have paired up with either Lex or Ethan, gotten Kelly (the one who lost immunity) into the group, and used Clarence as a pawn until 3 was a majority. Tom certainly isn’t an outcast, but he could garner a few votes in the future.

Samburu
I love this tribe! First off, they didn’t pour out any water, and the actually took an inventory at the beginning. But I really don’t think that Silas is trying to be the double agent. I think that he’s made up his mind, but the director just isn’t showing his decision.

How stupid is Frank? Just shut up already, would you? I think Silas is caught between a rock and a hard place. Each group has some very strong players in it - Linda and Carl in the older group, and the girls in the younger group - and some very weak players - Brandon in the younger, Frank in the older. While Brandon and Frank seem to be completely polar opposite people, they are equally bad at playing this game. However, time will tell. I just wish I could tell the difference between the Samburu girls. They’re fairly attractive, and very competitive.

On another note, I’m picking Linda to go to the final 2. I think she was sandbagging in the first stage of the blood challenge. Remember how much blood she spilled on herself, and how much trouble she had the first time around? She CHUGGED that pint of blood with no problem at all. I think she knows how to play this game very well.

yes. This episode got me hooked far more than the first episode. I am starting to recognize them by name and that is when the show becomes fun. Silas is in an interesting position. He is the middle man and it seems to me that the middle man will have trouble being a STRONG part of an alliance. Whichever group he picks, they will remember that he was not an original part of the alliance, so when it gets down to the final four, they would purge him first (especially given his fitness). I could see him breaking an alliance post merger and joing with the remaining members of the other tribe. Knowing XXXX, he probably split the teams like that to produce just such a result.

Great theory on Linda sandbagging. I’ll keep an eye on that.

I knew Kelly wasn’t a serious ouster candidate. If blood chugging comes up in the show again, I’ll be suprised! Otherwise, she has been an adequate player. I predict HER to take the cutesy role of S3. She kind of has a Reece Witherspoon thing going on. Speaking of nice looking, I think Jessie now holds the distinction of being the first true “cheesecake” player tossed before the merger (At the very least, Kimmie didn’t bathe so she doesn’t count).

I will admit, I called this one wrong. I picked the lady who fell as the boot (Kim C.?)She had a nice mea cupla to the tribe, but so did Mad dog.

Frank, who last week I thought was in danger, is looking decent. I’ll call that Silas goes with Frank and Carl and the lady. A better group.

Missed Strategy Tip: Clarence could have endured himself a little better to the tribe if he’d have volunteered to drink blood twice. It is only fair after all!

I thought Tom forgave clarence (they did seem to work together well). I guess not. Tom did make a comment to suggest that his voting for clarence was part of an alliance decision. Possibly a way to keep clarence from forming a split alliance because of the tie breaker system? Or is Tom just on his own?

Oh, I don’t agree with that missed strategy. I think everyone on Boran wanted that second shot of blood, and Clarence would have looked greedy (yet again) offering his services.

And I think that lawyer from Survivor I was cute. She was ousted early.

You could be right about Frank. He was stupid talking so loudly. But the way things are going for Samburu, it won’t matter if they keep winning.

Let’s go ahead and make Final Four predictions now. It’ll be interesting to see how way off base we all are at the end of the season:

Linda (winner)
Carl (second to go)
Silas (third to go)
Clarence (first to go)
