I don’t know if this qualifies as an “opinion”, per se, but last night I caught myself wondering if the sheer reduction of males in Europe from 1914-1945 is what reduced the asshole quotient enough in the post-war years to allow the continent to enact social safety nets.
Hmm. And is the corollary that a full contingent of adult males makes for a strong foundation for the growth of right wing nationalism there?

I don’t know. I really don’t. And many could (and will, and have) argued that the impact of the two World Wars changed Europe’s mindset as they looked for another way to remake their societies.
But the sheer lack of men… and exhaustion on behalf of those who fought… surely had an impact too? Not enough assholes, and the ones that were still there, many of them were tired of fighting for 30 years. Or, frankly, needed lifelong medical treatment to tend to their injuries.
Again… not really an opinion, just a thought I had. Perhaps this is worthy of its own thread?
Certainly food for thought, at least. I thought you made an interesting observation. It made me think something along the lines of crime rates decreasing after the introduction of unleaded gas.
In my opinion many of the opinions expressed in this thread are not actually unpopular. They’re actually “popular but ‘edgy’” opinions. 
Also, I don’t think United Airlines is all that bad. They are at worst mediocre.
